Ready to explore Northwest Florida on two wheels? These trails are calling your name!

There are so many great places to bike in Northwest Florida. Here are a few ideas to get you started! 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿!

Alys Beach Nature Trail 
Nestled in the northern portion of Alys Beach in Walton County, you will find 20-acres of nature preserve waiting to be explored. This flat trail is just under a mile long and great for families to bike together. Much of the trail is an elevated wooden boardwalk that offers great views of the habitats below. Make sure you take a break to look for carnivorous pitcher plants. These plants have tube-like leaf structures that capture and digest insects. 

Pensacola Beach Trail This is a choose your own adventure trail. You can really pack in the miles on a solo ride or the whole family can ride together for a shorter loop to learn about history and take in the natural beauty. As you cruise toward Fort Pickens, stop and check out the Civil War fortifications. Pack a bathing suit and take a dip in Pensacola Bay or the Gulf. Restaurants along the way will satisfy the appetite you’ve worked up.

Bear Lake Biking Trail Blackwater River State Forest is the home to this 6-mile loop trail. Intersecting dirt roads allow for further forest exploration if you want to extend the adventure. Varying terrain makes this a great choice for mountain bikers. Even beginners can enjoy this ride through the long leaf pine forest. Set aside about 2 hours to finish your ride and make sure you stick to the biking trail and not the hiking trail. 

Didn’t bring bikes? No problem! There are lots of outfitters in Northwest Florida who can get you geared up for a great adventure!
