What a great local citizen. I reguarly see the Pensacola Running Man running around town showing his patriotism and faith. He is an inspiration to all on perseverance, faith, and discipline. Keep on trucking! He's a legend on how the little things can make us focus on being happier.

As many of you know Rock N Fly has been postponed due to COVID for the last three years. I am hoping next year the race will return. I retired from the Navy in 2020 and am hoping they can get a new Race Director in the future.
I am currently on a quest for County Commissioner and plan to bring the same excitement, love, and vigor to Escambia County. I would appreciate your support on Facebook by following Mike Kohler Campaign https://www.facebook.com/VoteKohler or for more information please visit my website at www.votekohler.com
*This post is not endorsed by DOD/DON this is a personal page I developed and manage to support running for Non Profit charities.*

Unfortunately the 2021 Rock N Fly on NAS Pensacola will not be able to happen due to federal restrictions due to the COVID pandemic.
Rock N Fly is looking at opportunities off NAS Pensacola to potentially put a road race or races on in the future for different local charities.
We apologize knowing the support this race had not just in the community but in the southeast. Hopefully it will be able to return in 2022.

RNF packet pick up going great at Seville Quarter. We will be here until 7
03/19/2020
Dear Rock N Fly Supporters,
We will still have packet pick up Friday from 3-7 p.m. at Seville Quarter in Apple Annies. I have verified we can do packet pick up since there is enough space to properly distance individuals. Please only come if you are healthy. We are allowing for pickup of packets for yourself, family and friends. Please just have the registered runners names and we will verify they are registered. We are not requiring a secondary ID. I will trust everyone will be honest and distribute race packets to their friends and family.
My wife and I will also allow packet pick up at our home from 0800-1100 on Saturday morning March 21, 2020. The address is 320 Gamarra Rd, Pensacola FL 32503. This will be very similar to a drive by corona virus testing. In which you drive up, we validate you registered and hand you a race packet.
I will review the situation Sunday and may open up more drive by race packet times next week depending on what we have left over in reserve for local residents within 100 miles. If you live outside of 100 miles of Pensacola Florida. We will begin the process of mailing packages. This will take some time to execute. I imagine we can complete the process within three weeks but remember we are only mailing to registered participants that live outside a 100 miles.
The future of Rock N Fly is that I hope it continues. I need to discuss options with the base CO. I am retiring in just over a month and my status will change. I have been the race director for the last seven years and have been fortunate to have a small group of very committed volunteers that have been with me from the beginning. It has been a blessing to see the wonderful smiles and happy faces for so many people as they experienced running on NAS Pensacola and knowing the race was such a great charity event for the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society and Navy Ball. My goal is to have the race next year and have a substantial reduced rate for those that registered this year for a 60 day period after registration opening. I am looking at options on how to do that right now.
I can only say thank you for your understanding during this global crisis. For many of us running is a coping tool for everyday life to recharge and reduce stress. I strongly recommend going for a walk or run as often as possible and especially now. I hope many of you will return next year to support Rock N Fly. I can assure you having the race would have been much easier and fun.
Always running,
Mike Kohler
