Thursday, 8 October 2026 - With Hurricane Eliase heading straight for us, it’s looking like we may not get any flying in this weekend. So, we decided to grab a couple of reliable planes (Eflite Cleetus Cub and Freewing F-22A Raptor(01) V1) and head out to the field while we still had the chance!

The only concern was the wind, blowing at 18–19 mph. Surprisingly, it wasn’t too bad down on the ground, and more importantly, it was blowing pretty much straight down the runway. Up higher, though, the winds were definitely noticeable and made things a little more interesting!

Nonetheless, we managed to squeeze in some great flights before darkness set in. Mission accomplished! Sometimes you just have to take advantage of the flying weather while you can.

Now it’s time to batten down the hatches and pray that we weather this storm safely, with no damage to our homes or our beloved RC field.

Everyone in the storm’s path, please stay safe, take precautions, and look after one another. Hopefully, we’ll all come through this without any major damage.
