The official end of track season was last Sunday. With that everyone should be enjoying their summer break. Some of you already know this information, but many of you do not. My time coaching with GTD has come to an end. I am stepping away to spend more time with my family.

It has been an amazing run and has been one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had. I will enjoy watching each of my former athletes as they grow and reach for their goals in high school and beyond.

Great job yesterday at the Fight Childhood cancer 5k at Grand Canyon Univeristy. Baby was 2nd overall female and Ellen was 3rd. Way to go ladies. Liam was 5th in his age group with a solid effort after being sick.

Cool and rainy out there today but awfully fun. Good racing good pancakes, but GREAT cheering by all the coach Simons out there. Ha! I loved it. Pancake Run in the books.

It's almost time my little peeps. In 20 days we start the xc season. Monday, August 20th is the first practice. The first weeks schedule is already posted. Check it out and bring a friend. If you want you can start doing some short runs around your neighborhood and some strength work (hip routine, frogs, monkeys, bear crawls, squats, push ups, etc.). Just start moving and have fun with it.

The GTD steeple crew was on point today. Emily and Kenna won their age group with Leslie and Lizzie taking home 3rd and 4th at the USATF Region X track meet. It was fun to try new things and get out of the comfort zone. Way to go girls!
