6A ranking for the LHS V Lions for the 2021-2022 season. Congratulations girls, again, such a talented team. Every player on this team, made a contribution to our success! We couldn’t have gotten 7th in the Desert Valley, without all of you.

Our V Lions played the Hamilton Huskies, tonight. As they played the first set, we fought but lost 19-25. The second set again, was 19-25 . Our girls battled on, in the third set, almost having the Huskies but we just couldn’t get those last final points. V ends their final State game, with a 22-25 loss.

What a season ladies, you all have so much to be proud of! We hope you know how much we appreciate your hard work and dedication yourself, your teammates and to LHS volleyball!!

To our seniors: Kylie Davey, Adrianna Favata, Gracie Hensel, Kaitlyn Neal and Cayla Gaxiola- we WISH you five all the best, in your academics and volleyball careers. If Volleyball has come to an end for you, or your proceeding in club this season- all the best to you!! Your always a Lion, your never forgotten and always supported! Much love to you ladies.

Alumni Shoutout
Congratulations to Class of 2020 & 2021: SCC: Brooklyn Casey (1st place) & SCC Kylie Ostrovsky (1st place). GCC: Gracie Newbern (2nd place) and Hanna Granger (2nd place). Scottsdale Chokes, had to knock out the undefeated Glendale Gauchos, going into Regionals. With 9 matches played and just a 40min break in between, SCC beat GCC in Game 1: 3-2 and Game 2: 3-1!! SCC is headed to Cedar Rapids, IA for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, held November 18th-20th at Alliant Energy PowerHouse Arena. SCC wrapped up its regular season with an 19-7 overall record, with an 10-5 mark in ACCAC play!

Glendale Gauchos, earned the #2 seed for the ACCAC Division II playoffs and placed 2nd at Regionals. This team was unstoppable all season for SCC. Glendale beat them 2 x’s reg season and 1st day of regionals, they are incredibly talented team!! Gauchos wrapped up its regular season with an 18-4 overall record, with an 11-4 mark in ACCAC play! Congratulations Gracie and Hanna!

Brooklyn Casey, was nominated for the 2021-2022 season, for Honorable Mention ACCAC. She has also received recognition for Defensive Player of the Week, three times this season.

Kylie Ostrovsky

Kylie Ostrovsky, was nominated for the 2021-2022 season, for NJCAA Region I, DII All Region Team and NJCAA Region I, DII All Region Team. She has also received recognition for Defensive Player of the Week, two consecutive weeks in a row for October.

Gracie Newbern

Gracie Newbern, was nominated for the 2021-2022 season, for Second Team ACCAC All Conference, NJCAA Region I, DII All Region Team and placed second for hitting in the Region!

LHS Banquet
We held our banquet for the 2021-2022 season on Oct 30th. We love to end our season with all teams together, as we get an opportunity to honor them. We held a video of the girls, dinner and awards. Varsity earned their letters for those who haven’t received one.

They all accomplished so much this year.

Freshman ended their season with a 16-1 record! Losing just one match from a perfect season. Congratulations ladies. Always proud!! Jv also had a huge season with a record of 15-2, also so close, these ladies were outstanding. Huge growth and strength was shown everyday. Their friendships grew stronger and that only made their chemistry on the court, even better. Well done, to all.

Varsity is still in play, as they beat Mesa Mtn View last week and will play Hamilton tomorrow. They ended their regular season with a record of 11-6! This team has new players and returning players but you wouldn’t be able to tell, on the court. They are committed to eachother and this seasons goals! Good luck ladies. We are rooting for you.
