Lowaneu Cub Scout Day Camp

We want to thank Central K9 Search and Rescue for coming out Thursday to show off the Rescue Dogs and their amazing skills

Finally feel like I may have collected all the photos that have been sent to me to post here.

So, here's a photo dump. Sorry if there are duplicates.

Absolutely AMAZED at how many people and hours it takes to put on a Day Camp.

With just over 40 registered volunteers (Troop level Scouts, Volunteer Leaders, and Parent Walkers), it took 1454 hours to put on an amazing program for 60 little Cub Scouts.

Thanks go to the people that showed up for 98 hours to help set up.

We really appreciate the 442 hours that parents and leaders put in to walk the kids from station to station.

We couldn't have done this without the volunteer Staff and Jr Staff that put in over 900 hours over the course of the week.

Thank you for all your time!

We have a few items left over after we finished cleaning up camp.

We'll hold onto them till the Scout Night at the Pistol Shrimp game on July 9th.

Oh, and one more thing...

If your scout hasn't brought their robot home, be prepared with a large vehicle. Some of these guys are HUGE!!!!! 😆

But they look great and the kids enjoyed pounding nails, gluing the pieces, and all the other things to make these guys.

I heard they tried making a real robot the next day.

Well, she stopped by to say "Hi" this morning...
Luckily, we didn't plan to eat the popcorn anyway. But, she did get someone's lunch that was left overnight.

Tomorrow is FAMILY DAY!!!

Lunch is scheduled for noon. We have the Spring Valley Fire Department coming as the lunch presentation. They'll be hosing the kids down after their presentation. (Please bring towels for the car ride home.)

You are welcome to come for lunch, but be aware we do not have any extra seating. We'd prefer you come closer to 1pm.

We will allow open camp for your scouts to drag you from their first favorite station to their next favorite one.
You'll have the opportunity to meet their new besties from camp and even their favorite new adult camp person.

Trading post will open after the Fire Department's presentation and will be open all afternoon.

After yesterday and today, we're really loving the temperatures for tomorrow! (And we're liking the chance for rain too!)

We will still be having camp even in the 40% chance of rain! Make sure your scout has some rain gear!

A resourceful option is a garbage bag with a hole for their head to pop out and optional ones on the side for arms. If you send a bag, we have ways to cut the hole for you. If we don't need to cut the holes, you're scout will have a way to help carry their projects home with them.

Tomorrow looks to be slightly cooler than today. (Yay!)

Again, bring waters and hats. I was impressed at the one scout with the umbrella.

Also, a reminder, if your scout wants to enjoy Archery, BBs, or SlingShot, they must be in closed-toed shoes with no holes in them.

We had a hot day today.
But these kids were great with the shuffle of activities to keep them safe from the heat.

We're so proud of them for going with our flow.
