Fitness communities have a way of coming full circle.

Many of our members already know Mike Ward from his years of coaching and gym ownership right here in Petaluma. Others will be meeting him for the very first time.

Today, we’re excited to bring those worlds together.

Mike has spent more than a decade helping people discover what they’re capable of, building relationships that extend far beyond the gym walls. His passion for coaching, connection, and community make him a perfect fit for Body English.

Starting this Sunday, we’re adding another HYROX class to the schedule at 8:00 AM.

Our HYROX classes are coach-led and designed to build the strength, power, endurance, and movement efficiency needed for HYROX, DEKA, and everyday fitness. Whether you’re preparing for your first race, chasing a PR, or just looking for a challenging workout, we’ve got you covered.

Upcoming reminders for the Body English community 👇

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Schedule
On Monday, May 25th, the gym will be closed for regular classes as we take time to honor and remember those who served.

We’ll still be coming together for our annual “Murph” workout at 9 AM, and we’d love to have you join us. Whether you’re completing the workout solo, with a partner, or scaling as needed, all are welcome.

🏋️ Northern California Classic
May 29th–31st
We’re excited to cheer on our BE athletes competing at the NorCal Classic! If you’re attending, make sure to show them some support throughout the weekend.

☀️ Summer Camp Starts June 8th
Summer is right around the corner, and camp season is almost here! We’re offering 10 weeks of camp for ages 4–9 with both weekly and flexible options available. Spots are filling quickly, so don’t wait to register.

Recovery is part of training, not something separate from it.

You don’t build strength, endurance, or resilience by constantly running yourself into the ground. Your body adapts when it has the chance to recover.

Sleep. Nutrition. Hydration. Stress management. Rest days.
They all matter more than most people realize.

If your progress feels stalled, the answer might not be “work harder.” It might be recovering better.

Strong doesn’t mean exhausted all the time. 💪

Memorial Day means more than a workout 🇺🇸

This year marks our 3rd Annual Murph at Body English — a day where our community comes together to challenge ourselves, support one another, and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

“Murph” is named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005 and posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his courage and sacrifice. What began as one athlete’s favorite workout has become a tradition carried out in gyms across the country every Memorial Day.

The workout is tough by design:
1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 air squats
1 mile run

But the meaning behind it is bigger than the reps. It’s about gratitude, perspective, and remembering why we show up.

Whether you’re doing Murph RX, scaled, partnered, or cheering others on, we invite you to be part of this special day with our community.
