We may not have the winningest of season but this ragtag team improved immensely over the summer with plenty of epic catches, runs, and pitches. More importantly, it was such a blast playing with everyone on the team. Special shout out to our captains for making the line ups go as smoothly as they did. We’ll be back next season!

This weekend marks Bat Star history as we had our first ever victory in the playoffs. After an initial defeat to a team from another (much better) division, we came back and played our second game close. At the end of regulation play, we entered extra innings with a score of 8-8. They scored 1 run during their at-bat, putting on the pressure. A walk-off double by Katie DuBois cinched the win. While our third game was well-played, we ended the tournament yesterday playing the best season of our history. Great job Bat Stars!

Celebrating our 9-8 win against the amazing Team Motley Crew! After sinking for the first couple of innings, we started to swim and turned the tide to secure another win for the the 2018 Bodega Bat Stars! Sadly, Pat couldn’t join us, but we hopefully made him proud from whatever tide pool he has chosen to call home tonight. 🍺 🌙 ⭐️ ⚾️

We’re down to our final four games of the summer season. Haven’t attended one of our softball games yet? Well, it’s time to get Kraken! Here are the first [of many] team photos of your 2018 Bodega Bat Stars. Tonight’s game featured the glorious return of our team founder and legacy Bat Star Chris K Kwan (AKA Kwaniac). Nicole Aha (AKA Sharky) and Brian Hoover (AKA the Hoover Dam) also joined us on the softball field and helped us walk away with our second win of the season!
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t take a minute to also thank our fans who showed up for this evening’s game. You guys are awesome! Thanks for being the wind in our sails and for supporting us on our voyage to victory. 💨🌊⛵️

It’s a been a beautiful day with nary a cloud in the sky. While the stars will probably be out tonight, the Bat Stars were out this afternoon at Prince Park and played a great game against Lagunitas’ Trub Crew! ⭐️ ✨ 🌟

The Bodega Marine Laboratory suffered an incredible loss two months ago when Dr. Susan Williams, a distinguished professor and former BML director, unexpectedly and tragically lost her life. In memoriam, the Bodega Bat Stars have decided to dedicate our 2018 softball season to Dr. Williams and will proudly wear these patches (designed by legacy Bat Star Alex Spooner) to honor her memory and the enduring impacts of her research worldwide. Susan, last night’s win—the first of the season—was for you! ❤️
