Here is an example of how the infrared goggles I use can help a patient. The patient came in 2 weeks ago with a dizziness/vertigo complaint. In the normal clinic setting with no goggles (at the time), all vertigo tests did not show any eye movement, so likely an inner ear nerve problem? The patient’s TWO brain MRIs the past year were normal (but expensive). So she was referred to me.
After placing them in the goggles, not allowing the eyes and brain to compensate, BOOM! That jumping of the eyes in the video makes everything feel like it is spinning. Now the patient can perform a maneuver that eliminates the problem!
AMONG CASES OF BPPV, THIS IS THE RAREST SUBTYPE.
No other physical therapy clinic in Northern Michigan would be able to identify the cause and assign the appropriate treatment to this patient.

The infrared goggles are here! Already they have helped determine a more focused treatment plan for a patient with concussion.
Concussion, inner ear and visual motor disturbances can be assessed! Even long lasting vertigo the other places told you to live with. It all can be helped if the real problem is found.
