In honor of Black History Month, we asked our dancers to reflect, share, and celebrate what this month means to them. We are grateful for the voices, history, culture, and artistry that continue to shape dance and inspire us every day 🐉

In honor of today’s Women and Girls in Sports game, Fleming shares her perspective:

Being a woman in sports means showing up every day with strength, discipline, and confidence in spaces that have not always been built to fully value women’s athleticism. As a DI dancer at Drexel University, it means balancing intense training, academic expectations, and public performance while still having to prove that dance is both a sport and a serious commitment. It means embracing power and grace at the same time, pushing through physical and mental challenges, and supporting other women who share that drive. Being a woman in sports is about representing more than yourself it’s about resilience, teamwork, and redefining what athletic excellence looks like, both on and off the floor.
