Storyy Group - GB Boxing Awards 🥇🥈🥉🥊

Busy week finished with on Friday when the Birch Hill site got 3 students through the GB Boxing Awards at various stages.

Approved by GB Boxing, the scheme is designed to introduce and develop young
people through the sport of Boxing. This includes the rules, fitness and healthy lifestyle that the sport promotes. They can be used to gain learning credits / points for GCSE PE, BTEC ,AQA, ASDAN , Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Trust Awards.

These students will now be able to use these awards at their next stage of education.

Some really good pass marks so hopefully see them join there local Boxing gyms!

Boxing Intervention with Lord Williams School - 🥊📚🏫

One of my favourite interventions that I have done with Boxing, good last session before half term complete with the latest cohort of students.

The school and its staff are a pleasure to work with and have clearly seen the positive impact that Boxing can have on the students in the classroom and out of it. Some of this includes:

🥊 Respect for themselves and others
🥊 Belief that they can achieve using the tools Boxing has taught them
🥊 Much calmer
🥊 More in control of their emotions

The power of sport but particularly Boxing always brings a smile to my face 😁

Storyy Group - Finchampstead 🥊

Off the back of the success of the Boxing sessions at the Birch Hill branch, I was invited to expand the Boxing provision to other branches within

Good to complete the first half term at another of branches in Finchampstead yesterday 😁

Been brilliant to see the students progress and some have even joined thier local boxing clubs.

Storyy have been a pleasure to work with and the work they do is incredible. Not every young person suits formal and mainstream education. Storyy do a amazing job giving these kids the opportunities to set themselves up.

Boxing Schools Clubs - Grey Court Richmond 🏫📚🥊

Brilliant last sessions this week at Grey Court before they wrap up for a half term break.

Loved teaching the students every Monday morning the fundamentals of Boxing and seeing them progress each week. It makes me so happy to see the students getting as much enjoyment out of Boxing as I did when I was thier age many moons ago 🧓

The PE staff have been a pleasure to work with. I love how they encourage the kids to make sport a part of their lives and the amount of sport they offer at Grey Court is amazing! They have Golf on at the same time as the Boxing which is class!

How they get the kinds to get up early to attend the class I think is admirable… installing good life habits into the students for life.

Really looking forward to being back next term for the last couple of sessions before summer holidays.

Home Counties vs Hampshire - Berinsfield 🥊🏟️

Good day at the office yesterday with Home Counties coming out 7-4 winners against Hampshire in the last regional match of the season. Pushed all the way to the final bouts with Hampshire which made it exciting to watch.

Always a pleasure to work with Ricky (Hampshire Head Coach) so will be arranging a couple of team matches next year.

Some excellent performances by the Home Counties boxers and coaches yesterday. I’m incredibly proud to be Regional Coach of this region. I’ve always said it’s a dark horse and got a lot of very good boxers, coaches and clubs.

Some personal highlights for me yesterday included:

✅ Hayley Cox of Bellator ABC competing in her fourth Home Counties match this season. She was team Captain yesterday and got a well deserved win against a good opponent.
✅ British and Commonwealth Light Heavyweight Champion coming to support the boxers at the event. Lovely to see professionals supporting the grass roots. Class act in and outside the ring 👍

Looking forward to giving Home Counties boxers more opportunities next season.
