First NPC National show in the books for .walks.dogs

Allyson made it into the top 10 by taking 7th place in bikini class H for her FIRST time competing at the national level. I could not be happier with the outcome of our first national show together. Putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations forces growth and unlocks new levels of potential.

Working with Allyson is dream for me as her coach. It is only our second competitive season working together and she is still as driven, eager, and inquisitive as when we first started. It is safe to say her passion and drive only continue to grow!

Our feedback was to come back with more size. That is exactly what we plan to do. Time for a long improvement season. 🔥

Exercise tempo is used to notate how long each part of the movement should take for a given exercise. It can indicate pauses, lengthened eccentric movements (muscle lengthening), shortened/powerful concentric (muscle shortening) movements, and much more.

One of the most powerful benefits of using exercise tempo in our programming is that it allows us another method of increasing muscular work without additional load. The loads we use for progression cannot always linearly increase.

Let us never forget that the glutes also benefit tremendously from unilateral training! Single leg hip thrusts are a humbling movement.

It was her first prep EVER and it felt like a dream for both of us. Allyson did the work, she wasn’t afraid to ask questions, and most importantly she trusted me completely. Not much more I could ask for as a coach. We are already working towards the next step from here.
