HAPPY 53RD BIRTHDAY TO JUSTIN CREDIBLE!

Born October 16, 1973, Justin Credible became one of the most recognizable villains in ECW during its final years. Arriving in 1997 after his WWF run as Aldo Montoya, Credible quickly established himself as someone Philadelphia fans loved to hate. His battles with Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman and Jerry Lynn helped make him a major part of the ECW Arena’s history. His 1998 series with Lynn included a memorable Two Out of Three Falls victory at A Matter of Respect and an I Quit Match the following month.

Credible found even greater success alongside Lance Storm as The Impact Players, capturing the ECW World Tag Team Championship twice. But his biggest moment came on April 22, 2000, at the ECW Arena during CyberSlam. Tommy Dreamer had finally defeated Taz to become ECW World Heavyweight Champion, only for Credible to challenge him moments later and take the championship away. It was one of the most memorable and controversial title changes in ECW history, happening right in front of the Philadelphia fans who had watched Credible’s rise.

With his trademark Singapore cane, arrogant attitude and ability to get a crowd against him, Justin Credible played an important role in ECW’s later years. From hated newcomer to tag team champion to ECW World Heavyweight Champion, much of his greatest success happened inside that famous building on Swanson and Ritner Streets. Happy Birthday to Justin Credible!
