Where does the Money Goes and what 100% really means at the Water Tower Recreation Center? Here are some of the improvements made with your monetary donations. The Water Tower Advisory Council, working together with WTRC supervisor and staff, complement the investment that community supporters and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation have contributed. Yesterday we had the Hispanic-Latino Heritage Tour at the Water Tower Recreation Center. Like a professional tour guide, Señora Diaz walked the students through the map, flags and items from different countries and cultures united by the Español language.
Señora Diaz shared her out bringing in the Dominican Republic and how her culture moved with her to the USA giving her the opportunity “to be from here and from there.”
The students got to touch a tambora and maracas from Dominican Republic, soft alpaca sweater and backpack from Bolivia, art work from Mexico among other items.
Señora Diaz expressed her gratitude to the after school program for the invitation during the Hispanic Latino Heritage Month and thanked Señor Espinosa, Spanish teacher at Jenks Academy for the A&S, for his hard work teaching the students.
¡Muchas Gracias!

Ok, yesterday was just gorgeous! As I was approaching the building the path to the Water Tower front entrance felt like I was walking on a high fashion runway. Once inside the new and shining water bottle filler got my attention. What a pleasant day it was and all provided by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Elkay 👏🏼 priceless!!!
