Age doesn’t determine when your body starts “falling apart”, your daily habits do.
Your body can overcome a lot of bad lifestyle habits when you’re young, and unless you adapt and adjust what you’re doing as you get older you’re destined to be one of those people who bitch and gripe about how life sucks as you get older.
Make adjustments to your habits and lifestyle, or get ready to be left behind by those who just got “luckier” than you.

The best coaches in sports can turn around a bad first half performance by making great halftime adjustments.
35-40 is our halftime.
While a lot of wear and tear may have been done, there’s still plenty of time to make adjustments and guarantee you’ll have a much better second half performance!

I am in the process of adding a few things to the business:

1. Setting up an online booking option through my website. You will be able to view my schedule and plug yourself in for a private personal training session or to grab a spot in one of the weekly classes

2. I write programs for people to do on their own, whether it’s at home or at their gym. I’ll continue this, but will be implementing weekly check ins through phone calls, FaceTime, Zoom, etc.
Doing so will help me reach individuals who aren’t in the area for in person training, and who are looking for more accountability throughout their weeks / months.

I’m aware that a lot of trainers these days offer this, and that I’ve always been old fashioned as far as getting people in the gym in person to really get the connection with each client, but my goal ultimately is to help as many lives as possible, even if that means giving into the days of media technology that I have a love / hate relationship with 😬

Stay tuned, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Continue to do just 1 small thing today that puts you in the direction of the life you desire, and then repeat that EVERY DAY ✌🏼💪🏼❤️

Adding my 2 cents to a topic touched on recently:
Any coach or nutritionist that’s been around long enough has heard the famous “I’m eating practically nothing” line when there’s been an inability to lose weight when someone is significantly overweight.
This belief is most common in the U.S.A.
We have such an overabundance and overconsumption pandemic going on, that the average person has ZERO clue what starvation or even just BASIC HUNGER actually is or feels like.
“Starvation mode” is a ridiculous term and reason some will actually use when they GAIN weight or don’t see progress with losing weight.
Show me a village or community in a 3rd world country that’s truly facing starvation, and show me a group of people who are significantly overweight.
Ya can’t find them.
They can’t Door Dash a pizza and 2 liter coke to their home at 1am.
They don’t have local stores with shelves littered with ultra caloric processed poison we call “food”.
We’ve gotten so used to easy comfort that it’s distorted the definition of true starvation.

Are you recharging your physical and mental battery on the weekend or vacation, or are you depleting the hell out of it only to leave yourself running on empty when it’s time to get back to business?
I’m not saying you need to track your calories and do 1-2 hours of exercise every day while you’re away unwinding.
It’s good to cut back on the tightness of your normal routine if in fact you have one.
Have the dessert after dinner.
Order fries instead of a salad.
Enjoying some taste bud pleasing foods / drinks should be something you don’t need to feel guilty about.
However, understanding the difference it can make between picking one thing here or there vs. going all out, all day, every meal will help you maintain progress even on vacation or over the weekend.
When you feel the energy you get from cleaner eating and daily movement, you begin to crave it.
It makes you a better human to all of those around you, especially to YOURSELF.
Why would you want a break from that?

Obesity. Type 2 diabetes. Low energy. Lack of adequate sleep. Anxiety. Depression.
These are all things children are experiencing at an alarmingly younger age than ever before.
Kids are sleeping less than adults, when it’s the kids who need the most sleep.
Kids are spending more time on devices and travel teams than they are doing homework and putting together breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Kids are consuming more liquid that contains caffeine and sugar than they are water.
They are relying on energy drinks to get them going in the morning.
If mom or dad isn’t eating mostly homemade meals made of whole foods, there’s no chance the kids will.
That’s not genetics.
That’s a choice.
If we want our kids to be their best and feel their best, then it’s up to us the parents to set the example.

As a trainer in my early 20’s I had many clients and gym members say “Just wait until your 30’s”.
In my 30’s it changed to “Wait until your 40’s”.
At 41 years old, I can honestly say I feel better now than I did 20 years ago.
Aging is inevitable. All the creams, injections, hair restoration / coloring can put a mask over it, but our bodies tell us what’s really happening.
How you adapt your nutrition, training, and overall lifestyle ultimately determines how much you FEEL the affects of aging.
Strength will decrease.
Speed will decrease.
But understanding that that is just the natural part of the aging process is what keeps you thinking “I can still do something!” Vs. “I can’t do it the way I used to, so I won’t do it at all”.
We don’t stop moving because we get older. We FEEL older because we stop moving.
