Parkwood Martin takes down Calvary Wallace 9-7.
The game kicked off as a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair driven by an explosive early offense. The team surged to a fast start in the first inning, highlighted by Nathan O.’s bases-loaded infield single that initiated a 6-run rally. Nathan M. extended the cushion in the second with a crisp RBI double to make it 7–4. However, pitching struggles from both Nathans allowed the opposition to answer back, scoring four runs in the first and eventually tying the game at 7–7 in the bottom of the second. The critical turning point came with two outs and runners on base when Nathan O. made a clutch defensive play at first base, cleanly fielding a hard grounder to end the inning and stop the opponent from pulling ahead.
Following the tense early innings, Toby took control of the game on the mound with a dominant relief performance, striking out the side in both the third and fourth innings while stranding a runner at third base. Offensively, the team demonstrated remarkable plate discipline throughout the night, striking out looking only twice. This led to them taking the lead in the top of the third, which would ultimately secure them the win.
The overall ex*****on and growth shown by this team through the coaching of Head Coach Martin and assistant coaches Anderson, Healey, and O’Brien is evident. The boys are battling hard each game and this game is an example of what is to come. Well done boys.
