Hello Costa Rica friends. Please catch me at Pangas this Sunday!

Attention yogis and dancers!!! There’s a reason you love energy (movement, breath, flow) and structure (physicality, the body, mass). In this Core Zero Balancing Workshop being held 4/28/22 -5/1/22 (just outside of Philly) you’ll gain a deeper understanding of energy and structure: insights that can enrich your yoga and dance practice.
No prior experience or certifications required. Approved CEU provider for NCBTMB.

What is Zero Balancing?

Zero Balancing is a gentle yet powerful system of skilled touch that heightens an increased sense of connection, peace, balance and harmony by working with expanded states of consciousness.

By engendering expanded states of consciousness – beyond a linear consciousness – ZB allows us to be in touch with our internal world, allowing it to shift and expand to more easily reframe our life history.

Developed in the early 1970s by Fritz Frederick Smith MD, a doctor of medicine and osteopathy and master of acupuncture, Dr Smith’s extensive study of Western scientific models and Eastern principles of energy and healing afforded him a unique insight into the relationship between energy or “chi”, as a force in the body, and the structural anatomy of the skeleton.

Dr Smith’s desire to integrate these principles into a single therapeutic system culminated in his developing Zero Balancing.

Zoom Class with Lisa Bardarson RYT-500

SPECIAL EVENING POP UP CLASS
Please join me for a special evening SloMoYo class

$15

Friday, November 5, 2021 from 8:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m Eastern Daylight Time

PM for details

In these challenging times, please consider joining me as we move, stretch, breathe and restore ourselves through the unique somatic offerings found in SloMoYo. In this 75 minute practice we will focus on the element of Metal which is dominant during the season of Fall. Fall is a time of turning inward and letting go. Not always easy following the abundance of summer but in order to prepare for winter (and the following spring) we need to let go and shed that which we don’t need. The two organs that correspond with the element of Metal are the lungs (taking in pure air/inspiration) and the colon (eliminating waste/releasing).

I hope to see you. ~Lisa

There are many benefits to immersing the body in cold water. It calms the nervous system by helping the vagus nerve to re-regulate, and can be beneficial for reducing sore muscles and inflammation. I recommend starting with a cold shower. Three bags of ice in my tub was really challenging and not for the faint of heart! If you have any underlying conditions please don’t do this alone. Get set, refresh and reset!

First off, as you may already know, I'll be transitioning to a fee-based platform starting on Labor Day. I've been teaching gratis (and gratefully) since May 2020. I set this intention then as part of my Dharma (service) in the context of COVID with the thought of making connection, ease, and flow accessible to all. I want you to know that it was a win-win -- while I was "giving it away for free", it helped me to be focused, grounded, and filled with purpose. So, thank you for that.

And now that things are opening up (please, may it be so), it feels right to begin to revise my approach by charging for my service. That being said, if there's hardship for you, please let me know, and we can work something out: https://lisabardarson.com/contact/.

How to reduce stress with the 2:1 breathing technique 08/09/2021

In my last SloMoYo class, I discussed the "short breath in, long breath out" technique. I have included a YouTube video that does a great job of explaining this simple, accessible technique for relieving anxiety. It can be done in your car, the grocery line, or wherever works best for you. It resets the nervous system and is a great tool to have in your back pocket for those moments when things start to spin out of control. Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQjGqtH-2YI!
