Get Excited!
The Pacific Nations Cup 2025 starts soon. This series plays a central role in the global qualification process for RWC 2027.
The Pacific Nations Cup 2025 semi-finals will take place on Sunday, 14 September in Denver, Colorado and the Finals on Saturday, 20 September in Salt Lake City, Utah – marking the first time the tournament’s climax will be staged on US soil.
With Fiji and Japan already qualified, the top three remaining teams will earn their place at Australia 2027. Meaning the US Men's team could clinch a spot for the 2027 RWC at home.
The semi-finals locations were selected due to rugby’s rapid growth in North America and the region’s rising prominence ahead of the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cups in 2031 and 2033.

Some teams in the US are just starting their 15's season. Don't forget about these new law changes that went into effect at the beginning of the 2025-26 season.

In July 2024, World Rugby clearly defined a as a prohibited action. This change in law was created to promote a safer playing experience and limit lower leg injuries.
Previously, teams were getting into trouble for , removing a player by the head in a ruck or maul situation. taught players to croc roll in a response to neck roll penalties. Having the player targeting the back of the jackler and rolling them away from the ruck, instead of pushing the player backwards off the ball or away from the ruck. This rolling action would have players landing on the lower limbs of jacklers, causing MCL/ACL knee injuries or hip/lower back injuries.
Croc rolls fall under .

Four law trials will be adopted for all competitions that start after 1 January, 2025. They are:
60-second conversion limit to align with penalties and improve game pace – This will be managed by a shot clock where possible.
30-second setup for lineouts will match time for scrums to reduce downtime – This will be managed on-field by the match officials
Play-on rule in uncontested lineouts when the throw is not straight.
Scrum-half protection during scrums, rucks, and mauls
