Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy Our indoor arena, outdoor arena and trails provides year-round riding & programs for our participants.

Pegasus TRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Philadelphia, PA dedicated to providing equine-assisted service programs for children & adults with disabilities, diagnoses, as well as those in at-risk populations. Our Northeast Philadelphia location is on Fairmount Park Property through a long term lease to utilize the public trust lands and benefit people with disabilities. Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy features an Autism Program, a 6 week summer program, Senior Saddles for riders 55+ and an active volunteer program which includes our Work to Ride program. We are members of PATH International and the Pennsylvania Council of Therapeutic Horsemanship.

BIG NEWS about a familiar Pegasus face!!🐴🎓

We are so excited to officially announce that Bennie is now a full-time member of the Pegasus herd!

After spending three summers with us as a free lease, Bennie has officially “graduated” from the DelVal Equine Program in September 2026 and is ready to trade in college life for full-time Pegasus life! 😉

This 21-year-old registered Gypsy Vanner has had quite the career, with experience ranging from fox hunting, to college life, to being a therapy horse. Over the years, Bennie has become such a beloved part of our herd, and we couldn’t be happier that he gets to call Pegasus home year-round.

We are incredibly thankful to the DelVal Equine program for trusting us with this super special boy and allowing him to “graduate” into his next chapter with Pegasus. 💙

🙏☺️ 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 ☺️🙏
We would like to take a moment to recognize and thank one of our amazing volunteers, Diane Widdop, and her partner, Barbara Nevin, for their incredible generosity and support of the Pegasus herd.

When Diane heard about a special opportunity to help our horses, she was immediately all in! Thanks to the generosity of Diane & Barbara, Pegasus was able to purchase a BEMER Horse Set for our herd. 🎉

The BEMER Horse Set is a self-regulated PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) system designed to support circulation, recovery, relaxation, and regeneration. For our horses, it has become a wonderful addition to their routine, helping them relax and recover after their work while supporting their overall well-being.

This unique therapy has quickly become a weekly staple for the herd, and we are so excited to have this resource readily available to our horses whenever they need it.

We are incredibly grateful to Diane & Barbara for helping make this possible! ❤️ And if you ask us, the horses would probably say they are pretty grateful too! Just look at these happy, happy horses!🐴

We’d like to take the opportunity to extend our deepest thanks to these community leaders and representatives for taking the time to learn more about our mission at Pegasus 🤲

Our Executive Director Teresa Fletcher and Equine Director Ryan Frech were honored to share our arena with State Representative Brendan Boyle, Councilman Brian O’Neil, Councilman Mike Driscoll, State Senator Joe Picozzi, and State Representative Ed Neilson and/or members of their staffs and to be able to show them in person the extraordinary impact of our programming and our determination to continue growing through future projects.

We must also share our gratitude with our board members who helped with this wonderful gathering, as well as Brendan our demo rider, and Tommy McKiernan from the Local 22 for assisting in educating about the important work that we do.

From all of us at Pegasus, it means the world to us to have our state and city leaders’ support🐴🙏

Make sure to join us in celebrating our fabulous team member, Aly, for not only her birthday today, but also her recent promotion to Barn Manager 🥳🤩👏!!!

Aly has been a dedicated member of Pegasus for many years, from her beginning as a volunteer, then working as a summer program staff member, & her most recent position as a barn assistant. It is difficult *not* to notice Aly’s incredible work ethic and deep love for our herd and riders. We are all so thrilled that we will now get to have even more of her wonderful presence and exceptional workmanship at the barn, acting as our Equine Director Ryan’s right-hand person.

Thank you so much for ALL that you do, Aly!! We hope that you have the amazing birthday today that you so deserve! 💙
