In 2003, we created a grass roots effort to plant, preserve, and promote the park as a positive green space for family and community.

A small group of community minded citizens had a vision of a safer and cleaner Overington Park. The Friends of Overington Park began by overseeing the planting of flower beds and trees. Getting trash cans and a seasonal maintenance worker to clean our park. Today we have grown into a dedicated group that hosts a variety of park clean-ups and events. We secured funds to have the park walls repointed in 2007 and 2012 we received a new building with water to support our growing efforts.
