Still a small chance of rain, but the skate is still on tonight

09/01/2026

The forecast has been all over the place today, but as of right now, things look ok for an ~11 miler at our usual Tuesday night pace.

It's understandable if you travel for these and you need a more concrete weather outlook, but there is still a possibility for rain come skate time.

A go/no-go will be sent in about 45 minutes and of course things can even still change by push off.

If you do come, please be hydrated! It’s been hot and muggy all day.

Also tonights skate is my debut (Jim) as a leader, so patience is appreciated with the routing.

As usual, we’ll meet at the bottom of the art museum steps at 7:00pm and push of at 7:20pm

Reminder skate meet up is 22nd and Fairmont!!

08/29/2026

The Sunday skate will meet up at the prison at 22nd and Fairmont Ave. To avoid the worst of the bike race. We’ll have a typical city skate and stop by the race along the parkway.
Many roads in the area will be closed so give yourself plenty of time.
Normal start time with 10:20 push-off.

Sat Skate - 8/29/26 10:30AM
Hi folks,

It's shaping up to be perfect skating weather tomorrow and the city is gearing up for the Philly Cycling Classic bike race that will run on Sunday after a 10 year hiatus!
I plan to celebrate the return by running a skate route inspired by the race route including the option to climb the famed Manayunk Wall if we are so inclined when we get there (stair option otherwise).
We'll grab a refreshment at the Hilltown Tavern midway.

BE WARNED, There will be a good bit of climbing (and descending). However, it won't be too long... roughly 14mi

See you at the bottom of the Museum Steps which *should* be accessible as best I can tell on Saturday. Otherwise plan to meet at the Joan of Arc Statue at 25th and Pennsylvania.
Launchtime at 10:50.

Watch WhatsApp for updates. Not on WhatsApp? Ask me and I'll send an invite.

Cheers,
Eric
