In one of the most exciting moments in Dirt Dawgs history, Wes Baylor sent the Dawgs to the Championship with a 2 out, 2 strike, walkoff GRAND SLAM to cap an 8 run comeback in game 3 of the league semifinals. The Dawgs needed all 8 home runs they smashed on the day to come out on top in a true DAWG fight. After falling in game one by a score of 11–4, Dave Gibson twirled a gem in game two, which was capped off by a Big Danny Gavlick Grand Slam to win it 11-5. In the deciding game 3, the Dawgs fell behind early and trailed 9-1 heading into the 5th. Clutch hits by Chip Chapman, Mike Kerns, and others got the Dawgs back in the game, setting the stage for the 7th. With 2 outs and the tying run on third, Gavlick drew a walk to load the bases. After two quick strikes, Wes worked the count even and fouled off some tough pitches before blasting the game winner into another stratosphere. The Dawgs now face off against the rival Marlins in a rematch of the 2020 Championship Series. In this magical moment, it almost felt like a giant, bearded, tattooed Angel was looking down on the boys and coming through for his family

The Dirt Dawgs will be running our annual NCAA Bracket Challenge fundraiser.
