Philly Soccer Plus provides a clear direction and platform for the Development of the beautiful Game of Soccer in Philadelphia.
We started Philly Soccer Plus because we saw that there was a lot more children wanting to start playing the game in Philadelphia and there was a lack of Ex-Professionals offering their experience and Knowledge in the Philly area. My name is Thorne Holder, Former Philadelphia Union Goalkeeper. I mention the Union Because that's where I started my relationship with the Beautiful City of Philadelphi
a and the magnificent fans of the Beautiful Game. In College I represented Adelphi University, winning 2 championships as a Captain of the team while breaking several all time records, going down in the Adelphi University Hall Of Fame. I entered the US in 2007 with a Full Ride to The University Of Maryland in 2007, with the likes of Rodney Wallace, Graham Zuzi, Omar Gonzales, Aj Delagarza, Stephen King (the writer lol) Zac Macmath and many other World Class Players. My experience at such a champion Sporting and Academic Institution certainly helped me Refine my work ethic, character, and balance. Many of our teammates however didn't go on to win MLS championships and score winning goals in cup finals etc., some became models, politicians, actors, dancers and producers.But, what they carried with them on the runways and in the offices and on set, was a mindset, and attitude, that carried us far above our expectation for performances. Aside from coaching, we at Philly Soccer Plus Love creating Exciting content around the lives and the stories of soccer players at different levels of the game. Soccer is the fastest growing sport among youth in America, So we at Ps+ are making young stars of Local Philly Players, Starting in Port Richmond with the Port Richmond Hammer heads and then on to the Fish Town Champs, as we expand our Organization throughout Philadelphia and Beyond. The Model we are building is Scale-able, So Imagine a New York Soccer Plus Garden city or a New Jersey Soccer Plus Depford. As a company we hire the most enthusiastic and active coaches who still play the game at some Level, whether it be Professional, Semi-Pro, College, High School and Recreational Competitive Soccer. The Owner Of Philly Soccer Plus, Thorne Holder is a former Philadelphia Union Goalkeeper so the top down attitude and culture of the Club is at the highest level with over 15 years experience playing internationally at the Professional Level, International Level for Trinidad & Tobago playing in Olympic and World Cup Tournaments, coaching young players that have gone on to represent the US at youth Soccer Tournaments.
