Micromobility is not going away. The question is whether Pennsylvania will create a transportation system that accommodates these emerging modes safely and equitably or whether the state will create unnecessary barriers that make it harder for people to choose alternatives to driving. After all, conventional motor vehicles are the most dangerous devices on the roads.

The answer should be clear: We need better infrastructure, better data, and smarter legislation – and an understanding that those are key to improving safety—not policies that restrict people’s ability to get where they need to go.

Last Thursday, we had the opportunity to participate and invite Southwest residents to the Bartram’s Garden and Swing Bridge Walking Tour! Here are some flics from the event 📷🌉

🌻 We enjoyed a walk supported by We Walk PHL’s walk leaders and heard project updates from the City’s Streets Department and DVRPC. Plus, the Bicycle Coalition’s very own Swing Bridge Ambassador, Mable, gave an overview of the programming we offer through the Bartram’s Garden Bike Hub and the grassroots organizing Mable leads to engage residents throughout southwest Philadelphia with the many programs, amenities and miles of Circuit Trails that are available to them in their backyard.

Liz walked with us on Route 13 earlier this month in memory of her son, Damien, who was tragically hit and killed by a speeding driver. Her advocacy has helped make Philadelphia safer – but we all have a role to play in eliminating traffic deaths.
