This international dance day, so grateful to have this hobby I love. No matter how long it’s been, or how rusty I feel, or how tired I may be getting myself to actually go to a studio - it’s fulfilling in only the way an art form can be.
May this remind you that it’s never too late to reconnect with the hobbies that raised you (or, to find new ones!)

“The world needs more people with hobbies. This is easier said than done — so many hobbies require things like extra time or extra money or extra space, and those are luxuries for the majority of adults living in this country. But I think the effects of incorporating activities and experiences in our lives that bring us joy can be incredibly beneficial to our sense of pride and happiness”
- Jasika Nicole In The Company of Women
I can’t explain the feeling of being back in a technique-based classical dance class. Unlike performance-based or routine-based classes, you’re not focused on one end piece, but more on building up fundamentals. I’ve missed this, and the community of dancers who come along with it ❤️ here’s to going back to the beginning in the best way - such a good find // what a wonderful weekend !

The most special moment with my incredible dad ❤️ a clip of our father daughter dance.

Happy Valentine’s Day to the cheesiest (and cutest) of first loves - dance & .waghray 💃🏽💃🏽
Scrolled past this gem and couldn’t resist 😜
Throwback to early quarantine days, taking classes at home in ATL (when my fam still lived there, ha👋🏼)
It’s been ~2 years from this day, and it’s funny how things have both changed and not since then.
As I (oops) didn’t meet my goal of going to a class this week, reminiscing about this lovely choreo 🥰 and also on how my inability to balance is still very much apparent 😂

Going back to class after a hiatus is such a humbling experience. I haven’t been in a studio class since September 💀 and FELT IT.
But it’s also such a revitalizing feeling ❤️ life ebbs and flows, but no matter how long we spend away from our artistic passions, they’re still there for us.
Can’t wait to get back to (hopefully!!) a more regular class regimen in 2022! 🤞🏼✨
