Just a little brag post because I am damn proud of myself. Pic #1 (New Years Day 2022) was eye opening for me. I didn’t realize how much weight I had gained until I saw it. I was so mad at myself. This little tool (mobility wedge) works wonders on loosening up those trap muscles!

Unlike your traditional foam roller for your SMR ( self myofascial release)
This gets much deeper and on target the foam roller gets stopped by 2 key points
1- being the spinal cord
2- being the shoulder blades

The mobility wedge literally is a expensive door stop with a spinal crevice in the middle that digs deep
Into those traps!

So to make the best out of our stretching 🙆🏼‍♂️ we must understand the first 2 modalities

1) inhibition - inhibiting tension in areas identified as being overactive or shortened.
( Self-myofascial release techniques)
-reduce muscular tension
-relieve muscle soreness
-improve circulation

2)Lengthening
Lengthening the muscles with static stretching or neuromuscular stretching techniques

GOT STABILITY ?

- so we should all know stability comes from the core !

- with that being said a strong core = great 😊 stability and can lead to better neuromuscular control and propioception towards said** muscles 💪🏼!

Also look at stability with life ; diaphragm ( which is a forgotten core muscle )
Not only can diaphragmatic breathing help with strengthening your core it can also lead to stress release / tension when you are breathing properly !

Pull - 🆙 Progression Pt.3

Try this band assisted pull -ups
3 sets of 5-8(controlled)reps (again we are really focused on how we can control our body weight )

So when we come up for the pull up ⬆️ we are targeting a split second or so isometric hold

And as lowering in our eccentric movement we are controlling our body weight with the let down ! ( take about 3-4 seconds to fully lower your body )

Then when coming back down when we are back to pulling up officially let’s not spend too much time at the bottoms we are mainly focused on building muscle stability in the isometric and eccentric movements !

Today we are conquering the Barbell inverted row 💪🏼💪🏼

Try to keep the legs as straight as possible (slight hinge in knees, so you don’t slide) main focus would be
-Drawing in the belly button (core activation )
-keep the neck and head relaxed no protruding
- pulling up and getting the chest as close to bar and focus on again an eccentric loading
- don’t let the moment control you you control it ( this will make you stronger and more stable and controlled when it becomes pull up time💪🏼💪🏼)

If this tends to be a challenge at first bend the knees and push through the legs to get your chest close to the bar and focus on slow descending until we can properly build up the muscle mechanics to straighten out the legs and have more neuromuscular control in our Latissimus Dorsi 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

This week we are posting about how we can progress towards your goal of
🚨 Pull-up 💪🏼 🚨
•
- First up ⬆️ we are taking it simple Trx rows, but as for the goal of relating this to a pull up we are getting a good 😊 isometric hold at the top and controlling the eccentric part (descending)
- the pull up part tends to be the easier part springing up towards our first repetition however we usually have under-developed and unstable (Lats, forearms flexors, core strength )when heading towards our second rep

Try to bang out 3️⃣ sets of 8-12 repetitions focused on the hold up top and a controlled descend

We start our new Saturday schedule this week. We have one near death experience class at 7 am, a regular 45 min class at 815, and our new kids program at 915.
