15 hour flight back from a week of intensive training and basketball in the USA and Max, Jaron, Tom and Mack home, showered and back shooting hoops and training.

Today was a great day!
We get to give 10 young men the opportunity to see the American life and to play basketball in America.
We want to thank the amazing staff, including coach Andy at Mountain View High School.

The boys were put together with other members of their basketball team and were given a tour of their gym their weight room their locker room and their video watching room. They even had to attend their classes LOL.

I’ve never seen 10 guys so excited! The bond and the friendship that they built in that short period of time was amazing.

Tonight we played our first two games at the Aim High Academy one of the most amazing human beings on this earth. Coach Terrell Washington has worked with our boys, and has treated us with such love and such respect.

Our first game was against coach Demonte’s Hoopdreams team.
We got the win but the competition was fierce.
The respect that he had for our team was humbling. Our boys are really starting to buy a good motion style Basketball 🏀.

Our second game was against Coach Terell‘s Aim High Team.

They came out with a bang and absolutely had us against the wall.

They were faster, more structured, and had the boys rattled for a bit.
After a timeout, we regroup and by half time it was scores level.
Our second half was more balanced, and the boys played amazing transition Basketball.
After they called a timeout, we switched our play from full court man to man to a split line 2- 3 defence.
It seemed to slow the game down and allow us to take a little bit more control, especially under the basket. But man, they had some good players that was the only team that have challenged us as a team since we put this team together 7 months ago! So our massive respect to them!❤️ We came out winners by nine points but we had to earn the win.
Very proud of the boys and their efforts over the last few days.
Tomorrow we have three very tough games, but we are all enjoying this wonderful perience.
We could not have done this without the support and the love from Aim High Academy, but most importantly the backbone of this whole tour created by the amazing team at Global Learning Expeditions!
To all the players parents who have supported the academy and our vision for this. We continue to thank you unconditionally.

Huge first official day in Phoenix!
We attended Arizona State University where we were warmly greeted with a tour of the campus! We discovered that under NCAA rules, no high school students were allowed in any of the sports facilities as it’s a breach of the potential poaching rules!
Crazy!
Then we attended a pretty awesome training camp run by coach Terell Washington from the Aim High Academy.
I got to take a back seat as he worked through the boys mindset and physical part of their game.
Then this evening we went to an NBA game. Phoenix Suns vs Dallas Mavericks.
Not a bad game. Gee the NBA don’t play aggressive defense; until they had to. 😃
The Suns got the win and it was a great game and a great vibe !
