This Memorial Day, I would like to honor the memory of Gary Drumheller. Gary was my barber for many years. He was a Vietnam Veteran who died in 2021 from COVID. He was a staunch supporter of our veterans and firmly believed no Vet should every have to sleep on the ground or without a roof over their head. Through the Elks lodge, he collected and distributed clothes, furniture and medical equipment to Veterans in need. He would give free haircuts to the homeless, and on occasion would hire us to entertain at the disabled veterans home and "US Vets".
While you are out grabbing a bag of chips or a 12 pack, please consider sending a few extra dollars to this great organization. They provide housing and workforce development for our homeless veterans.

As a traditional style, classes are taught in a formal and disciplined setting. Students learn proper etiquette, and are respectful to each other and their instructors. Our program focuses on individual improvement, and is not competition based. It emphasizes proper technique and control, with relation to speed and power. A student’s advancement is based on specific criteria, and is primarily earned on effort and attitude. There are four major ranks (belts) in our system: white, green, brown & black.
Students begin with fundamental punches, kicks and blocks. These techniques are further honed when practiced in various sequences, or forms, known as katas. Within a kata, proper stance and breathing is emphasized in coordination with movement. Timing, control, and accuracy also continue to develop through sparring, or kumite. Throughout training, students are challenged with finding mind/body harmony, and ultimate awareness, through the Sanchin kata.
What you gain from training may differ from others. Students in our program often see improvement in several areas; Self Confidence, Self Control, Discipline, Respect, Leadership Skills, Stress Release, Balance, Coordination, Strength & Flexibility, Focus & Awareness.
We train with a practical approach to real world situations. A well trained student develops the ability to react in dangerous situations without thought or emotion, using only adequate force to stop an aggressor. Accurate controlled strikes to vulnerable areas translate into the common sense of self-defense; survival first.
