It all started with BALL. It was my first love…. the first time I directed my full intent and energy into something…. where I first learned that when I put my passion into something I truly care about, I can improve tremendously, even finding success beyond my natural skill level.
I was never a great athlete. Kinda stiff. Not super explosive. Lateral movement could have been better. I even had bad knees before it should have been a thing.
BUT, I have a huge motor, refuse to quit, and have yet to be outworked by anyone at anything ever. I watched tape. I practiced every nuance of the game that I could imagine. I envisioned every conceivable situation on the court and thought about how it could unfold. I sat next to my coach on as many road trips as possible and talked ball until he pretended to fall asleep just to shut me up.
Participating in sports taught me so much……about teamwork, leadership, and communication under duress. Specifically, my experience on the basketball court gave me a starter set of self confidence and resilience-under-any-circumstances that forms the foundation of any success that I’ve achieved over the years - be it in higher education, business, or even self improvement.
I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything.

Though I was an early adopter of The FaceBook, I haven’t been active on this platform in more than a decade.
I’ve worked diligently to develop my skill set as a fitness professional and strength coach, while simultaneously creating a world class private training facility that I am extraordinarily proud to have owned and operated since 2012. As you'll see in future content, the place is incredible - acting as a physical representation of my vision of what fitness means to me as both an athlete and coach.
I am currently in the early stages of expanding my services provided - including online coaching and fitness business consulting for personal trainers, gym owners, and people aspiring to be either.
To that end, I thought it would be fun — and appropriate — to re-introduce myself on this platform and to provide some context and background for who I am and what I’ve experienced along the road of my adventures in fitness.

My 11 year old client is a bad ass. Always brings effort. Listens to my cues. Enjoys the hell out of lifting (Prowler....well, not so much). Rings the PR bell on the regular....Then trash talks to me about being a Beast. 😎 @ HITZ Fitness

Upped the ante for weekly episode of Operation: Muscle-Up. If Zander fails a rep, my dog bites him squarely on the ass........ He set another rep PR today (6), so pretty sure this motivational tactic is a keeper for the arsenal.
