Papago Archery Association

Looking backโ€ฆAt the turn of the century, the Papago archery range was under utilized for over a decade. In 2002 the Arizona State Archery Association (Now USA Archery Arizona) began working with the City to better utilize an outstanding resource:

After a year of focused effort that showed its viability to the ASAA and the City, the ASAA funded the decomposed granite ground cover material and the City Phoenix installed it:

The club was established as the Papago FITA Archers. Over time the parking lot was improved, a drinking fountain, trees, bow stands and a shade canopy was installed. More and more archers were able to utilize the range including the Sun Devils Archers at ASU.

Cheers to Archery at Papago Park as the 20 year anniversary of the start of modern range improvements approaches.
