If you have a gun you should also have a light. While weapon mounted lights are nice and convenient, a handheld light will work just fine.

You need to understand how to use your gun with a light, and train actually shooting the gun with a light.

In my 32 years of Policing in Phoenix, I saw this several times. In AZ we can only use reasonable "PHYSICAL FORCE" to stop theft or criminal damage. Nobody want to have their stuff taken, however trying to stop it is a great risk. Two lives changed forever over a property crime.
