The Trans Agenda is a roller derby community of trans and non-binary skaters.

We come together as a team, skating hard, representing our community, and demonstrating what a trans-inclusive and affirming roller derby space looks like.

Hey there! Did you see that we published a Travel Guide a few weeks back? This is a FULL Guide with LOTS of tips on how to support trans folks during travel - airports and planes, cars and road trips, etc.

If you are looking for a place to start on how to be a better ally, this is a great 7 page read! Even if you don't have any travel coming up, or don't travel with any trans folks, the Travel Guide has a ton of considerations and insights to what trans folks may experience navigating the world.

The content refers to team travel for roller derby and sports, but applies to any travel situation. And its FREE! Download it via the link or in our Facebook profile:

If this Guide is helpful to you or your team/ league, please donate $5 to our GoFundMe or CashApp! (Both linked in bio) All funds raised pay for team tournament expenses, including individual financial aid.

Well, Scrape started writing this over a year ago and we're finally publishing and sharing this out šŸ˜‚. We're excited to to provide concrete action for allies in our first Guide, focused on supporting trans folks in team travel trips.

Travel is often stressful and hard for trans folks, especially BIPOC trans folks and those who haven't travelled much. This Guide is aimed to help teams step up their allyship to trans teammates during team travel planning and trips. Thinking through and talking about travel plans can help ease a lot of anxiety leading into team trips. Most importantly, conversation and thoughtful action show that you care about someone's physical safety and mental wellbeing. We all deserve to have good experiences and feel supported. We all should be set up to play our best in this sport we love.

Trans folks aren't all the same, so remember that you may have someone who doesn't need or want this support, while someone else does. The things YOU think are important may not be important to the trans person you're trying to support. Beyond all the specific tips in this guide, remember that building trust with folks is the most supportive thing an ally can do. Check in with folks - not like 100 times a day, don't be weird about it - but be proactive and intentional. Remember not to assume someone is doing fine because they aren't raising issues or complaining - and remember that self-advocacy is exhausting and not without costs. Even if they have self-advocated, they might not have been fully heard.

We want to thank Arizona Derby Dames for having us out for Roller Rage last month! We had successes on the track, and skating in community is always a win! Every year we are stoked to have new friends join us and build our team community. And, as always, the wins and points don’t reflect the true success or power of trans skaters sharing and supporting each other. We have to fight so hard to have our asks and needs met in so many spaces. We have to pick our fights, choose our battles, curb our responses, our frustration and exhaustion. The Trans Agenda is to create spaces where we are truly seen, held, and cared for as our whole selves, in all our lived experiences and identities, and can feel safe and empowered. What are you going to do to create that space for your trans league mates?

Roller Rage is the ONLY open-gender banked track tournament and one of the few open gender roller derby tournaments of any ruleset. These opportunities are SO important to growing our sport and providing places where all trans folks can skate together comfortably, outside of closed gender policies and league politics. It takes a ton of work to put on, so again thank you AZDD!!

If you want to support this amazing team, please donate to our GoFundMe (linked in bio)! All funds raised go to supporting team expenses and individual skater travel costs so that everyone has an opportunity to have this experience.

Trans Day of Visibility can only exist if trans people continue to exist.

Way overdue, but...
Huge thank you to Arizona Derby Dames for putting on the Roller Rage All Star Banked Track Tournament 2025! It’s the ONLY open-gender banked track tournament and one of the few open gender roller derby tournaments. These opportunities are SO important to growing our sport and providing places where all trans folks can skate together comfortably, outside of closed gender policies and politics, and show our full community and strength as skaters.

It’s a ton of work and we so appreciate AZDD for putting it together. Thank you to our very special announcer, The Grim Lawyer!

The Trans Agenda had a blast together, with old friends and new. We had a win and a couple losses, but community wins over competition every time. We show our full power when we can be our whole selves, respected, affirmed, and cared for.

The day after this wonderful weekend of community healing, our new government decided they could mandate language and deny the existence of transgender and gender expansive people. We are 1% of the population and we have a right to life just like the other 99%. The Trans Agenda's community spans both geographical places and communities that are under attack. Our intersecting identities and lived experiences make us stronger and also more invisible. There are NO grey areas when it comes to supporting trans people. If you support racist, classist, or imperialist causes, you do NOT support trans people. If you support rhetoric that prioritizes ā€œwomen’s safetyā€ in bathrooms, sports, and beyond, you are supporting the removal of trans people from public space. If you support laws that would create more opportunities for violence towards trans people in their daily lives - physical and psychological violence - then you actively are supporting state and interpersonal violence. If you disagree with these statements, please educate yourself on how language has been used to weaponize otherness against minority communities in countless acts of state violence throughout history.

Keep listening, keep learning, keep paying attention. We need allies in this fight.

Hey y’all
We’re going thru it and we know you’re going thru it. We stand stronger together and we will survive and thrive as trans people always have, despite them. No matter how they try to erase us or tell us we are not worthy of autonomy, respect, or life, remember that you deserve to be whole. Our journeys to self-acceptance and comfort in our bodies are a human right.

We (Olive Jean and Steph Adler) have been working on some exciting things, so stay tuned. There are support tools and merch coming soon and if you are able to help us fund these projects, our GoFundMe is linked in the bio!

In the meantime…allies, remember y’all got some work to do. Allyship goes beyond trans flags and banners and social media posts. If you aren’t listening to and collaborating with trans folks, you’re not on the right path. If you can’t focus on and care for the trans person next to you who keeps saying they feel unheard, invisibilised, or unsafe, your attention is in the wrong place. The personal is political - interpersonal connection is how we build a resilient community, survive, and thrive.

Here’s a picture of trans folk being goofy outside the original gender-neutral bathroom (port-a-potties):
