Discover historical combat in Phoenix! We're a member-driven, non-profit HEMA Alliance affiliate teaching authentic historical swordsmanship.
Beginners welcome—join us for our New Fighter class the 1st Saturday of the month. phoenixswordclub.com The Phoenix Society of Historical Swordsmanship is part of the Historical European Martial Arts Alliance. We welcome all students who wish to learn to fight based off of historical European manuals. We are not a re-enactment or role playing group, we focus heavily on historical authenticity in our fighting technique but we use modern safety gear.

Join the Phoenix Society for a hands-on introduction to Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA)! In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll learn the fundamental stances, guards, and strikes of the longsword based on the historical treatises of 14th-century Italian master Fiore dei Liberi.
No prior experience is necessary—we provide all the gear, training, and safety equipment!
📅 Date: Saturday, September 5, 2026
⏰ Time: 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM (Please arrive by 12:15 PM for safety waivers)
📍 Location: 7828 N. 19th Ave, Suite 12, Phoenix, AZ 85021 (SW Corner of Northern & 19th Ave — Park in the back; entrance will be unlocked!)
💵 Cost: $20 per person (Covers equipment and instruction)
💳 Payment: Cash or Zelle ([email protected])
👥 Ages: 15+
👟 What to Bring: Athletic clothing, closed-toe shoes, and a water bottle!
No formal RSVP required, but marking "Going" on this event page helps us prepare enough gear for everyone.
