Phoenix Kart Racing Association Race 8 is in the books with just 2 more races left. We went away with wins once again.

Kevin Ruth took the Briggs & Stratton Racing LO206 Kid Kart win with a sweep of the day. The new Briggs LO206 Kid Kart package has really been showing some growth at PKRA with another new driver joining the group this race outnumbering the Honda package racers. We are really starting to see some momentum with this package setting up the kid kart drivers to be ready for the step to Jr 1 LO206.

Michael Cruzado battled all race long with Kane Pexa to come out on top in his RLV Tuned Exhaust VLR Emerald in LO206 Jr2.

Rich Alten's Tactical Combative's swept the day again in LO206 Arizona LO206 Racers Masters securing the Winter series championship with 2 races left.

Toby Longenecker and Micah Hendricks battled in their Aluminos Estoril Tag100 P1 Engines Inc. karts with Toby taking the win on track but was penalized 1 position for a starting infraction giving the win to Micah.

The shifters showed up on this day with Micah Hendricks showing the way in Open while Toby ran 2nd on track winning the Spec class on his Aluminos with Honda Racing/HPD power.

We will be back at it in 2 weeks to battle again.

Boxing Feinting Drills - How to Feint With Your Jab

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IhjIIflSnU

one of my responses to someone who was admiring one of my many Youtube videos for martial arts

comment: Thanks very much for the lesson. Great job explaining the difference, and also how to use these tactics to still continue the power behind it. Professional information here , I learned alot watching this video. I'm only 145 pounds but very fast and a boxing style of fighting, pretty hard for me to get any real power hits, so I've gotta use these tactics to get in close and maybe land a hook to the kidneys early into the fight, or else I'll probably be killed. Something else I picked up from this video is that I definitely need to keep all my body weight moving forward when I set up an opening, and then like you said, if then using a feint, to make sure you whole mass moves forward again, and not just your arm

Q:Correct me if I'm wrong, a feint is 1/4 of technique, while a fake is 1/2 of a technique.

A:"No the amount of committment you put into a feint is totatly based on your opponets reactions and defneses they use to repsond to the fienting action. For Example if your opponets has really good reflexes and is paying close attention to your actions, your feinting that extends out slightly may NOT be enough to get them to over react to hit them. In that case you may have to committ moe with your feinting action and/or eventually use a specific "fake" instead because they got good reactions and defenses.

On the otherhand another opponent may have veryu poor defenses and is very scared your speed, so a small feint may be enough to amke them flinch and hit them,

The bottom line you have to use both 'fients and fakes" at some point because veryone your spar is different in skill, attributes, etc.

Feinting is very general in movement, faking is more specific (fake left go right), (fake high hit low). Every fake starts with a feint or a stutter action (2 step action). In the vdieo I start by teaching the "stutter jab" as template to teach the body control of 'fient'. Eventually you have to learn how to start the feint motion and stop it in mid air and turn it into a fake if needed.

The bottom line all fients, faeks and deceptions only work when you can get your opponent to beileve the LIE! You have to sell the action to make it work! Hope that helps!"

Alten Tactical Combative Strategies

[02/23/20]   ▶️Connecting all the body’s core systems to rotate while stabilizing and mimicking “walking” (contralateral reciprocation) should be the primary focus to a more fluent and balanced human movement.

👉 it’s recommended using different tools in order to challenge the mechanical levers and fulcrums in where the body might find itself in certain positions in sports or tasks

👉 sometimes I will start by doing 10-15 minutes of heavy aerobic training to get myself tried and then move into “strength endurance specific” skill sets which challenge the body’s Maximal and Dynamic strengths under duress (most realistic training for sports or combat).

👉Tip - always make yourself adapt to as many different skills sets as possible so it never gets stuck in “long term blocks” of periodization.

[02/21/20]   There’s a difference between “Strength Endurance and then Endurance Strength”.

▶️Strength endurance involves using a particular type of resistance and moving it in a specific velocity continuously for particular period of time. In other words one has to have a certain amount of strength to work with against resistance for whatever the task hand calls for.

👉Example punching with weighted gloves on and having muscle contraction to produce the velocity needed thru the entire range of motion in good form.

▶️Endurance Strength is doing a particular task in a specific Manner with an elevated heart rate and demand on the body’s systems for a specific duration that doesn’t require using external resistance. This requires both aerobic and anaerobic capacity

👉Example would be long distance running or an aerobic activity

The S.O.A.R philosophy

Science: The method of discovering how things really work by analysis, experimentation and testing of all variables.

Organization: The assembling of a body of knowledge in a systematic way to encourage progressive learning.

Art: A skill or craft that requires a personal commitment of time, practice and study to achieve mastery.

Refinement: The purification of all concepts, skill-sets and techniques for the sole purpose of finding the best method of clarity and ex*****on.
___________________________________________________________________
What this means is that in order for a martial arts to be considered a system it must be a total, complete structure. It has to cover all areas of interpersonal combat. This includes hand to hand combat, weapons safety, confrontation management, psychological training as well as being able to function in any environment. Also, it must be easy to learn and apply and adaptable to anyone. In other words the techniques, tactics themselves have to be of enough diversity to use virtually in any arena and situation.

This is method is not a style, nor a series of moves made up from various fighting styles and woven together to become a patch work system.
