🔥 THAT’S A WRAP ON DAY 1 of Games! 🔥

Phoenix… we’re settling in. 👀🏀

The day started with a one-point heartbreak, going down 49–48 to rezballers in a game that could’ve gone either way.

But these boys weren’t about to stay down…

They came back with a statement, dominating Northern Elite 58–27 and reminding everyone exactly why they’re here. 💪🔥

This team keeps growing, building confidence, creating friendships and proudly representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on one of the biggest Indigenous basketball stages in the world.

One day. Two games. Plenty of lessons. Plenty more basketball to come.

🏀 FULL TIME | GAME ONE ❤️🖤💛

An incredible way to begin our NABI journey.

Our boys left everything on the floor, going down by the narrowest of margins, 49–48 to Rez Ballers in a game that could have gone either way.

While the result didn’t fall our way, the pride, resilience and heart our team displayed showed exactly what the First Nation Warriors are all about.

This is only the beginning. We reset, we learn, and we come back stronger.

🏀DAY 1-CHECKED IN & READY TO REPRESENT🏀

Day One is officially in the books! ✅

Today was all about settling in, team check-in, collecting our official NABI gear, and meeting Indigenous athletes from Nations and communities across North America. 🌏🤝

One of the most powerful parts of this journey is the opportunity for cultural exchange. While we’ve travelled from Australia to proudly represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we’re also here to listen, learn and build connections with Indigenous peoples whose cultures, histories and experiences are unique, yet share so many common values.

Basketball is bringing us together, but it’s culture, respect and community that make this experience truly special.

The smiles, the conversations and the friendships are already beginning, and we’ve only just arrived.

Tomorrow, the competition begins, but today reminded us that this tournament is about so much more than basketball.

A huge thank you to everyone back home for your support. Every message, every share and every word of encouragement means the world to our players.

Today’s the day.

The First Nation Warriors have officially departed Sydney, beginning an unforgettable journey to Los Angeles before making our way to Phoenix, Arizona for the 2026 Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI).

This isn’t just another overseas trip.

We’re travelling with our flags, our stories, our families, our communities and our ancestors in our hearts. Every step we take, every game we play and every connection we make is bigger than basketball.

For many of our boys, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on one of the biggest Indigenous sporting stages in the world.

We’ll compete hard, learn from First Nations peoples from across the globe, build lifelong friendships and proudly show what our mob is all about.

A huge thank you to every family, sponsor, supporter and community member who helped make this dream a reality. We couldn’t do it without you.
