Our latest project complete! A 1966 Schwinn Stingray J38-4 3 speed! This bike came to us a few weeks ago and had been sitting in a barn for over 40 years. We had to cut the dry rotted tires off of it! The customer wanted to preserve as much of the original paint, parts and hardware as much as possible but make the bike rideable again. After a bath and chrome polish all over we overhauled the 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub which was seized up, then overhauled the front hub and bottom bracket which was also seized up as well as the headset. After truing both wheels we got to work on the brakes which weren't too bad. In all a fun project!
