Welcome to my page! My name is Celeste,
a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. I am inspired to share how yoga in the sun is good for you: body, mind and soul.
All levels are welcome in what I call a "Stretch and Flow" vinyasa style class. We will have fun with arm balances and more, but at a pace that feels right for each person. I believe yoga is a journey towards self-discovery, and each person has a unique perspective and opportunity to grow. Suggested items to bring to class are: mat, water bottle, sunscreen, towel. Beginners, athletes, older kids (
6 and up), first timers and regular practitioners are all encouraged to attend. A little about me (Celeste McCarthy): I received my 200-hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) certification from Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in 2004 and my second certificate from LifePower Yoga in 2016. Previously taught at Gold's Gym, JAB Fitness, After It Training, and several small studios in the East Valley. I have lead family yoga workshops, kids yoga, and both Prenatal and Mommy and Me classes. I have a special interest in helping people find relief from back pain through specific poses, encouraging athletes to go deeper in their performance, and introducing newcomers to the practice. Yoga changed my own life in every possible way, from pregnancy to being an overwhelmed new mom, through healing from scoliosis and repetitive use injury, to maintaining calm in the midst of a busy life. It continues to provide joy, fulfilment and tranquility, as well as keeps my body strong and flexible. Besides daily yoga, I love to run, hike, read and write. I received my Health Coach certification through the Institute of Integrated Nutrition and co-own Protea Medical Center with my husband Dr Brendan McCarthy, where I see patients for nutrition guidance and coaching. With our three kids and two crazy dogs, we live a full and busy life. Every day, I look forward to sharing the gift of yoga with my community.

Lots happened this summer and fall with yoga training for me - receiving both my YTT 300-hour and a 100-hour certification in yoga nidra. Itβs been amazing, sharing this knowledge and wisdom in my studio classes.
Is there any interest in park yoga this Fall and Winter ? If so, are Friday mornings still a good option? Hoping to either pick back up again in Sun Ray Park or somewhere close, frisbee golf space allowing.

Multi- tasking yin shapes are my favorite after a long day. This one opens the hips and side body, with a little twist.

Stay cool out there. Pose of the day: camel / ustrasana. A powerful backbend and chest opener. Good for heart, body and mind. Pic from vacation in Washington last week.
The wonderful thing about yoga : you can practice anywhere and at any time. π§ββοΈπ
