This team became the first in school history to make it to the state tournament—and that’s something no loss can take away. What an incredible season, filled with hard work, heart, and determination. You’ve set a new standard and paved the way for everyone who comes after you.

We couldn’t be more proud of this team and everything you’ve accomplished. Hold your heads high—this is only the beginning of something special.

They’ve shown up early, stayed late, battled through tough matches, and never stopped believing — not just in themselves, but in each other. This team is built on heart, resilience, and a bond that goes far beyond the court.

For the first time ever, the Picayune High School tennis team is headed to STATE—and what an incredible journey it’s been. This team has shown heart, determination, and a level of dedication that truly sets them apart.

To the players: your hard work, long practices, and relentless drive have paid off. You’ve represented your school and community with pride, and now you get the chance to compete for it all.

To the coaches: thank you for your leadership, belief, and commitment to building not just great athletes, but strong individuals.

As you travel this Sunday to chase a state title, know that an entire community is behind you, cheering you on every step of the way.

The 2026 MHSAA Tennis State Championships, presented by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi , kick off next week! Matches begin Monday, April 20th. Class 4A, Class 6A & Class 7A will compete in Vicksburg at Halls Ferry Tennis Courts.

After defeating Neshoba Central in the 2nd round of team playoffs, the Maroon Tide advance to the FINAL FOUR in class 6A in Vicksburg next week. Monday is the team tournament, and Tues/Wed is the individual tournament. PMHS will compete in BOTH!! Just one more reason to say "ROLL TIDE ROLL!!"
