𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓...
This r***e is sold to an 85lb girl and a 245lb guy...the stock fits neither of them. Lack of a cheek rest is a 3 part issue:
1. The cheek is the top anchor point for the stock, helping control the stock while running the bolt, to avoid floppy scope syndrome.
2. The cheek rest or lack thereof, will cause the shooter to see "Mooning" in their scope.
3.The cheek rest gives your "12lb bowling ball of a head" somewhere to rest so as not to wiggle the reticle.
*An impromptu cheek rest can be established with hockey tape and strips of yoga mat.

Our goal in every class is to help r***e shooters navigate the myriad of terms and topics, focusing them on what matters and weeding out the noise.
If terms like Moa, Mil, Mechanical zero, Zero stop, windage, Elevation, tall target/tracking scope tests, Bullet BC, Natural point of aim are intimidating or unfamiliar don't worry. We will present this and more information is an absorbable package, plus 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 get a 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 of the class and a 𝟭𝟯 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 to help retain these teachings, long after the course is done.

We had a small group of folks interested in becoming certified as Instructors recently do a meet and greet classroom/Range session. So, I did what I always do, just like any other training day. No red carpet or sales pitches...HERE is what we teach and how we teach it.

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐌𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐙𝐄𝐑𝐎..
After students have solidified their 100 yard zero, they will make a note and/or take a phone picture of where their elevation turret is right now....then we have them count each "click" all the way to the bottom, making a note of that number of clicks in their dope books...This way if they ever get confused when dialing...we tell them to "bottom it out" and count up that amount. This number can save your hunt, once fatigue and confusion set it, without this knowledge getting back to a 100 yard zero starting point is impossible..And yes, here is where a zero stop can shine vs some scopes have 200+ clicks below their 100 yard zero.
