PointBlank offers small class sizes and lots of information to better understand permit to carry laws. Covering information on surrounding states with focus on MN and highlighting several common travel issues. In only one class, you will obtain a certificate from PointBlank that allows you to legally apply for your 5 Year MN Permit to Carry. PointBlank also offers outdoor firearm training at our private range. We have a full schedule of classes from Pistol, AR15, Shotgun, Precision Rifle to Tower only classes. We have full amenities for multi-day classes and include meals/beverages/lodging.

In ๐‘ถ๐‘ผ๐‘น Long Range Precision Rifle classes, sometimes we use a handgun to demo trigger press and follow thru....the lone female in a recent private class had expressed interest in firing HER handgun if time permitted earlier in the day...little did she know she would be a critical part of my later demo.
We ran the rifles thru their paces @ the 200 yard stage, then out came my Handgun...the group was giddy- watching as I shot upside down, cold bore impacts @ 600 ft.

I told her her to step up to the line, the males scoffed out loud, as there is no way in heck this gal...new to carry could do this... she was apprehensive as well.
I handed her my handgun, an open sighted gen 3 g***k 19 with 3-4oo,ooo down the pipe and my crappy range pick up reloads.
She asked me why not use her ๐’๐’˜๐’ Handgun??... because she had n e v e r shot MY firearm before and that's part of the point to this demo. I had her dryfire a couple of times, then went live. ๐—ฆ๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜ 3 ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ 3 ๐—ฎ๐˜ 600๐—ณ๐˜. The hubby and others had to pick up their jaws off the ground at this point...she was elated..and I proved my point. Our 100 yard benches, where we start our Long Range Rifle classes are 50ft in front of our classroom... for a reason. With todays modern "pencil barrel profile" ๐‘ฏ ๐’– ๐’ ๐’• ๐’Š ๐’ ๐’ˆ rifles you can not shoot a bunch of rounds at one time...barrels get extremely hot and will typically throw impacts high, giving erroneous feedback..wasting time, the shooters shoulder and money. With our classroom handy, we will let rifles cool after shot strings and turn the wait time into ๐’‘๐’“๐’๐’…๐’–๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’—๐’† ๐’„๐’๐’‚๐’”๐’”๐’“๐’๐’๐’Ž ๐’”๐’†๐’”๐’”๐’Š๐’๐’๐’”.

However since carbon is a great insulator, one thing to be aware of is how ๐‘ฏ๐‘ถ๐‘ป they are on the ๐‘ฐ๐‘ต๐‘บ๐‘ฐ๐‘ซ๐‘ฌ...To the touch, the outside of the barrel seems cool, and it ๐—œ๐—ฆ ๐—ฏ๐˜† ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป..however- especially with a suppressor hanging out front, even more ๐‘ฏ๐‘ฌ๐‘จ๐‘ป is backing up into the barrel. Shoot your shot string, clear the rifle...leave the action open in a vertical rack to cool faster....after 3-5 shots.. this cooling time should be about 30 ๐’Ž๐’Š๐’๐’–๐’•๐’†๐’”. These are "cold bore" use rifles, getting shot data with a really warm barrel is a waste of time and money.
