Koa is a very new rider and she's learning the basics of how to keep your balance while riding a horse. So many things for her to learn. For instance, when we ride we keep or heels down and toes up with our feet under our seat. The student has to learn to look where they're going and steer at the same time, as well as legging their horse forward. It's kind of like juggling balls, and thinking of many things all at once. It definitely prepares them for critical thinking.

Here at Lone Oak Riding Stables I teach kids the basics of riding a horse, but that's not all they learn here. When they arrive, the kids go get their horse from their stall, and they analyze the horses' feelings making sure theres no injuries and that their horse is calm and happy. The kids groom their horse (bonding time), and lastly they saddle up their horse to ride. It's important for them to learn about all of it! Someday, they may own their own ❤️🐴

My horse Feather seems to be getting along nicely with my student Scarlett. Feather usually tells people if they're not riding her correctly, today she approved 😂🥰🐎
