September. The spiritual start to hunting season. Bugling elk, velvet bucks, Labor Day dove hunts, poppers on the grill, college football on the tv and temperatures finally dropping. Fall is almost here.

Bull elk are beginning to show themselves across the mountains, and it’s a great sign that summer is underway in Eastern Kentucky. The elk are looking healthy, and conditions are shaping up to be excellent for wildlife viewing over the coming months.
