Have trouble staying motivated?
Join the club. Why is it that we all make beautiful goals in January only to have them fall apart in a few months (if that!)?
Mixing in our busy life, demanding career, and just the sheer stress of it all... almost leaves us feeling like it's impossible to ever reach that long coveted physique and holistic health goals.
Here is where neuroscience comes in... by figuring out our "why" we are able to use this in times of stress to continue to make healthy choices, thereby leading to long term success.
So what is your why?
Your why is the deep down reason for making the commitment to get in shape in the first place. Start with your goal:
"I want to lose 20 pounds."
Then ask why....
"So that I can have energy to travel and play with my kids."
Then continue to follow this rabbit hole and ask the why why questions until you have come to the ultimate life shattering result of losing those 20 pounds.
"I want to have energy to take my kids/husband/wife to hike mountains in Thailand for my 50th birthday."
Life will inevitably get hard. When it does and your motivation is in question, remind yourself of the reward you will receive with achieving that goal. The reward system in your brain will create dopamine. Increasing dopamine creates a feedback loop that will help you continue to stay motivated and consistent towards your goals.

•I mentally resisted this quarantine hard. Not that there aren’t other important things going on...but if anyone knows me, slowing down is not an easy task. 🤯
•Sitting with yourself, and having all the time to remind myself that my worth isn’t grounded in how much I accomplish. But in who I am as a human. It allows me to step back and be grateful for all the wonderful humans that fill my life, and get really excited for all the lovely coming.... •While still FEELING all the uncertainty that everyone (ahem* fellow business owners), are feeling and feeling my feelings fully. We are in this together. 💕

When every sniffle counts as ̇d19 it’s important to keep those allergies under control (👀stop giving me side eyes, Karen..).
Try this anti-inflammatory smoothie:
•1 cup almond milk
•1 scoop greens (I use Amazing Greens brand)
•1 scoop plant based protein powder (I use the MRM brand)
•1 tsp turmeric
•sprinkle black pepper
•1/2 cup banana
•1/2 cup pineapple
•1 tsp of local honey
Blend that little bundle of joy and enjoy. Because 🍌🍍🥬

Lets talk about movement, shall we? Movement is in everything we do. It’s there when we play with our kids. Its there when we go on excursions on vacation. It’s even there when we climb the stair of our house. The inability to move is detrimental to our happiness and quality of life. And yet, we put very little effort into fixing this crucial factor in our life. We let it go until it becomes a really, big problem. Why?
Time. Business. Lack of direction. Not sure what to do.
