Alrighty, here is Battle Born Trail Run Swag!
I gave these glass mugs at my MTB race this year and we're a hit.
The mug comes with 2 lids, the one I engraved with a little motivational quote, 2 straws, and will be filled with whatever I find to fill it. Definitely the BBTR sticker, RRA magnet, and SNB sample. I ordered transfer stickers and applying them on myself, fun stuff.
I only ordered a few so get registered now to guarantee your BBTR glass mug.

Registration for this race does close the Thursday prior to raceday, Oct 22nd at noon! No raceday registrations.

Well I figured today was fitting to post what this year's Battle Born Trail Run Finisher Medal will be....

On October 11th, 2004, Nevada released their specialty license plate to honor September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.

I tried my best to replicate the plate for this year's finisher medal, I like it...no, I love it.

Like prior years, I always create a replica Nevada license plate as Battle Born's finisher medal. No year is alike. I like my participants to leave my races with a different medal and award each year. Maybe something to look forward to when doing my races.

Raceday is 6 week away, please get registered sooner than later so I know how many of these medals to make.

I'm working on the overall awards and swag now and will post pictures once complete.

Finally...get to share photos of a cool and not so easy but fun project I did for my little nephews 1st birthday present.

We are a racing family, gearheads all the way so why not brainwash little Ayden now, lol!

I created an outlined image of each racecar and hand-painted each one to match the original. I did as close as I could. Some of the sponsors were so tiny it was difficult to see after I painted. I made the each puzzle piece a magnet also so he could play with them on a frig or Tamra & AJ could prop it up without pieces falling. Tried to pick some cool racing cars and was able to find out a couple of Tam and AJs favorites.

I messed up so much on this project that I have extra pieces so I painted them and have them as magnets on my frig now.

Pretty proud of this project and I'm so happy AJ & Tamra love it too. Love you guys!!!

What idea do you have for Christmas that you'd like me to make into a puzzle or magnet or ornament or whatever? Challenge me, I absolutely love doing stuff like this!!

Can you all believe that it will be the 9th year of Battle Born Trail Run? I can't! Wow, so amazing and just darn proud of this event.

Battle Born Trail Run is all things Nevada themed. Each year I make a custom finisher medal that replicates a Nv License Plate, each year is different. And each year I custom make the awards that will somehow represent Nv also. So much work but fun put into making them each year. My brain is definitely in overdrive thinking of what to do for Swag and overall awards for this year's event, hopefully I can be creative. I'm already working on a sample finisher medal...I think they will turn out cool.

Be sure to get registered for the distance that will challenge you, choose from the : 3.6 miler, 10.31 miler, 18.64 miler, or 1.864k dash.
& there is a sunset 3.6 miler also. Run morning and night if you dare, Double that Battle!!

On June 13th, Rocky Road Adventures put on its first official ultra trail run that was not a Backyard Ultra set-up.

Boom or Bust Ultra had 3 amazing, very focused, and determined individuals. Because the event had only the 3 registered, I tried canceling or rescheduling it about 2 or 3 times. I felt bad that they didn't have competition and I didn't want them to feel like they wasted time training for it or money traveling to LC. They all said noway and we're committed to not only the event but their own goals for the event.

Ultra Trail Running really isn't about who you go against, not really, yeah winning is great and being pushed by your faster competition but it's really about you vs the terrain, the distance, yourself!!

Can't thank Jason, Kristi, & Concetta enough for being my 3 test dummies for this event. They told me to just be chill with it and be there. And Idid try. It was a wonderful day spent with them all!

Jason & Kristi both came from Ely and both did finish the full 30 miles, placing 1st and 2nd. Both received my custom-made medals and belt buckles.
Concetta was DNF (Did Not Finish) but accomplished 17+ miles and received a medal. Any miles accomplished get a medal at this event.

All 3 endured some pretty harsh temps, mid/high 90s with very very little cloud cover.

Thank you to my 2 volunteers for also enduring the heat with me and being there for the runners. Thank you Jason & Alice.
Thank you to the BLM & LC for allowing to put on event at such a great place in the desert, Prospector Trails, Pioche Nv.

Congratulations again you 3! Well Done!

Definitely not giving up on this event. Shooting for next year in Sept/Nov/Dec!

My 3 Boom or Bust'ers are out running. All 3 are doing the 30 miler and started at 5:30 this morning.
So excited that these 3 showed up and willing to run in heat. Weather has been pretty good so far.
Well done just showing up and starting.

Finally got around to putting something together for Broken Record MTB Challenge earlier this month.

What an amazing turn out for Rocky Road Adventures. The Mountain Bikers came and conquered a tougher course this year, at least I feel it was. The course was 8.2 miles compared to previous years, 6.75 miles. Some riders liked it, some liked the original course. But they all finished tired and feeling accomplished.

Las Vegas was definitely represented this year. So beyond thankful for the handful of riders that told their friends then told their friends and so on. Ely and Utah showed up to represent as always, so grateful for those neighbors.

Have to say thank you to Kershaw-Ryan State Park and Ranger Ethan, best venue, best help!
Shout out to my awesome voluteers: Jason, Sue, Ethan, Eric, and Shel! No way can I put on these events without help and you all brought your unconditional selves. Thank you so much!

I hope this event can bring next year what it brought this year, it was great to watch the competition. Again thank you participants, I appreciate you so much.

Keep riding hard and hope to see you next year or at another RRA event this year.

Have to post these videos of me and my mtb bike on Kershaw-Ryan mtb trails.

Jason, Shel, & I cleaned the course yesterday. Shel ran a short part of course and cleaned it. Jason & I did the bigger loop section.

Welllll, I have MAD appreciation for anyone that enters my Broken Record event and rides these trails. I mark all my courses by way of my two feet, hike/run, never by bike. They are so easy to run!
I'm so humbled at how bloody hard it is to ride any mtb single-track. You mtb riders are amazing. I'm like dumb n dumber on my mtb and as you can tell in videos, I walked or ran with my bike on more than half of this course to clean it. The first video shows me on a flat spot, but it was rocky and I felt like some of those rocks are out to get me and make me get bucked off my bike. Good grief that was hard yesterday. I'd biff it everytime I stopped to get off my bike.

I'm absolutely okay with laughing at myself and posting these. (I looked at as good training 😉).

I was asking myself yesterday, "Who is the idiot race director that picked this trail for an event?" 🤣🤣
But I do like it when my participants cuss me out too because my courses can be hard or the event. It's part of that growing and challenging yourself.

Anywho, I love my participants and they all are badass mtb'ers, whether they did 6 laps or 1 lap! Amazing.

Will post soon on race event and give those badasses credit where credit is due!

But super thank you for my awesome mtb hubby .romans got me. I'll practice more on lower Prospector trails!!
