This morning I had Oliver and Braun out with me on Lake Fork for a combo catfish and crappie trip. We hit a baited hole in 20ft of water in timber first. The fish were there and they dropped that Chumhere Bait punch bait down to them. 2 hours and 30 minutes later they had 50 catfish on ice. We had a nice steady west breeze the entire time they were catfishing. Pickup and headed to crappie fish and the winds began to lay. Took a few hours of slack winds and finally a breeze picked back up from the south east the last hour. It was a tough crappie bite but that 50th crappie hit the cooler at 7 hours and 30 minutes into the trip and we rolled in. Stump Creek Jigs hand ties pitching with 7ft Kistler Rods did their magic again. No minnows were harmed in the making of that table of slabs. Go check out everything we are using to crush the crappie at Lake Fork Tackleshack. Enjoyed having these guys out and hope they enjoy the 4 gallons of fillets headed home with them.
