Let me introduce the second horse I have in on consignment and trained out of LHE:
Meet Indigo, 2023 grade mare 14hh
I honestly couldn’t tell you what color she is. She came to my place 90 days ago jet black. Now she’s baying? Greying? No clue 🤷‍♀️
Indie is awesome. Although she’s green broke, she can WTC in the indoor, outdoor arena, trails, and roads. Shes been ridden on the trails and roads in thunderstorms. A bow and arrow has been shot off of her. You can rope off of her. Ride with an umbrella. She gets use to crazy things quite quickly.
Perfect conformation, 100% sound, and barefoot.
Again, this horse is not for my beginners because she’s so green, but with a few more months of training, she could EASILY be safe for anyone to ride!

Two consignment horses coming for sale trained out of LHE!
First one is Piper. 2023 sorrel grade mare 15hh
Will WTC in indoor arena, outdoor arena, roads, and trails. She hates arena work and is very lazy in the arena, but she lovesssss cattle and trails.
She is NOT for one of my beginner kids since she has sterotypical red mare attitude, but she would thrive on a ranch moving cattle or out on trails.

What an honor it was to host this wonderful couple at my facility for a ride! They have a goal of taking a trail ride in all 50 states, and LHE was their choice for Iowa. The weather decided to be unkind to us as it rained hard the morning of the ride, so we were stuck to the country roads instead of a trail ride through the Loess Hills, but it was still an experience I’ll never forget. They have 33 states down out of 50! This is a goal I now aspire to hit someday!

Outcome of the conversation I have with all my students on how to hold reins:

Me: “Okay so it’s rein through pinky/ring finger, and clamp tail end with thumb on forefinger. This provides the most stable communication to the horses mouth. You know, kinda like how if you were to throw a punch, you want to use your inside knuckles since it aligns with your forearm and does the most maximum damage?”

Student: “Uhhhh…No?”

So I guess Self Defense skills will now be part of your lessons 🤣😅

I love it when a lesson kid shares the same interests as me!
Amelia had the time of her life playing with Mounted Archery, but what she didn’t realize was how much better she improved at sitting the trot when she was more focused on nocking that arrow!
Sometimes you just need to relax and have fun in order to find improvement 🙂
