Japan Karate-Do Genbu-Kai of Kansas We are a traditional Japanese Sh*to-Ryu Genbu-Kai karate school. Welcome to the Japan Karate-Do Genbu-Kai of Pittsburg, Kansas website.

We are a traditional Japanese Sh*to-Ryu Genbu-Kai school of karate under the guidance and direction of Shihan Fumio Demura. In addition to Sh*to-Ryu karate, our school also offers instruction in Okinawan Kobudo (sai, kama, tonfa, bo, eku-bo, nunchaku) and Japanese Batto-do (sword). The Japan Karate-Do Genbu-Kai of Pittsburg, Kansas has been a member of Shihan Demura's organization since 1977. The Pittsburg organization is currently led by Sensei James Otter (Rokudan) who began his study of Sh*to-Ryu karate in 1977 as a member of the Pittsburg State University Karate club. He has advanced ranking karate, kobudo, and batto. Amy Murray (Yondan) is an assistant instructor at the dojo. Classes available for ages 6 and older. Monthly Dues: (cash and check only)
$30/month. Family Rate $30-1st member. $20-each additional in house.
