People without dogs: "Must be nice. You can just relax every evening."

Meanwhile, my house sounds like a WWE event sponsored by squeaky toys and bad decisions.

No kids. Just two Australian Shepherds who are convinced the living room is an acceptable venue for full-contact wrestling.

Peace was never part of the floor plan.

If you feel like you're spinning your wheels...

Zoom out.

This is roughly 10 years.

Not 10 weeks.

Not one perfect program.

Not one magical supplement.

Not one "before and after."

Ten years of learning.

Making mistakes.

Building muscle.

Losing muscle.

Bulking.

Cutting.

Changing my mind.

Starting over.

Getting stronger.

And just...showing up.

When I lost 100 pounds, I thought I was finished.

Turns out I was just getting started.

The first photo isn't failure.

The last photo isn't perfection.

They're simply different chapters of the same story.

At Phoenix Rising, we don't chase quick transformations.

We chase trajectories.

Because real progress rarely feels dramatic when you're living it.

It feels like you're doing the same boring things over and over again.

Lifting.

Eating enough protein.

Sleeping.

Walking.

Repeating.

Then one day you find an old picture and realize...

Holy s**t.

I've become someone I couldn't have imagined back then.

Don't judge your progress by where you are today.

Judge it by the direction you're headed.

Because consistency compounds in ways motivation never will.

Keep going.

Your future self is already grateful you didn't quit.

I don’t know who needs this… but tomorrow’s RISE class might be exactly what your body’s been missing 👀

Not a crazy workout.
Not intimidating.
Just a solid mix of strength, mobility, and actually feeling good when you leave.

Most people wait until they “feel ready”…
The ones who show up anyway are the ones who see results.

RISE Strength & Mobility
🕙 Tomorrow at 10 AM • Alpha Fitness
💲 $10 drop-in • 45 min
👯 All levels • Co-ed

Come try it once—you might be surprised how much you like it.

Who’s thinking about it? 🙋‍♀️

Somewhere along the way we became the kind of adults who get together with friends and make videos about someone's ni**le showing.

Honestly... we're okay with that.

The internet asked for different emotions. We understood the assignment.

Now be honest... which one took you out? 😂

It’s wild how quickly people will blame everything except the obvious.

Seed oils.
Food dyes.
Carbs.
Sugar.

Meanwhile alcohol gets a free pass because it’s “normal,” “social,” and wrapped in good marketing.

Let’s be clear—

Alcohol is one of the most disruptive substances when it comes to behavior, decision-making, emotional regulation, sleep, recovery, and overall health.

But instead of having that conversation, people would rather demonize ingredients they saw in a TikTok.

This isn’t about never drinking.

It’s about being honest about what actually impacts your body, your brain, and your life.

Because you can’t fix what you’re not willing to look at.

People ask what it's like living with an Australian Shepherd.

Imagine if a caffeinated toddler, a WWE wrestler, and your most unhinged CrossFit coach merged into one fluffy body.

Meet **Coach Fen**.

His current job responsibilities include:
• Keeping Mom's cortisol levels in the cardio zone.
• Yeeting himself at every guest who dares enter the house.
• Personally "training" select clients with surprise plyometric drills and balance challenges they definitely didn't pay for.
• Immediately clocking out for a four-hour nap after creating mass chaos.

HR has received multiple complaints.

Unfortunately, Coach Fen is also HR.

Performance reviews remain overwhelmingly positive... according to Coach Fen.

This wasn’t content.

This was a random day where she told me, “I don’t feel like myself.”

No big explanation.
No long conversation.
Just… off.

So I did what I could from where I was.

Told her to cancel her clients.
Told her to put on one of my hoodies and get on the couch.
Ordered her favorite pizza.
Paid an absolutely disrespectful amount of money to have a $2 Sonic drink delivered to the front door.

Because sometimes love looks like solving the problem.
And sometimes it just looks like making sure someone doesn’t have to sit in it alone.

That’s marriage.

It’s not always big moments.
It’s showing up for each other on the days when one of you can’t fully show up for yourself.

And here’s the part people don’t talk about—

The same woman who leads, coaches, and pours into so many people… has days like this too.

We both do.

Because we’re human.

Phoenix Rising is built on showing up for people when they can’t show up for themselves.

But behind that… are two people who understand exactly what that feels like.

And that’s why it matters so much to us.

🚨Sunrise Yoga🚨
Hey guys, last minute call here, but we’re going to cancel sunrise yoga this morning 🌧️

I’m here setting up now and the rain is starting, with more rolling in. Rather than get everyone here and caught in it, I’d rather play it safe.

So sorry for the late notice, I had no idea it was coming in this quickly.

We’ll be back next Thursday ☀️ Appreciate you all!

Perimenopause isn’t a steady decline.

It’s a hormonal rollercoaster—and the chaos comes from how estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone fluctuate, not just that they eventually decrease.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

Estrogen doesn’t just drop.
It becomes erratic—spiking high, then crashing low.
That’s why you can feel great one week… and completely off the next.

Progesterone is usually the first to decline.
Why? Because ovulation becomes inconsistent.
Less ovulation = less progesterone.

That shift alone can impact sleep, anxiety, mood, and nervous system regulation.

Testosterone gradually declines over time, but during this phase, women often feel it more.

Lower levels can affect drive, motivation, strength, recovery, and libido.

So now you’ve got:

Unpredictable estrogen
Low progesterone
Declining testosterone

And people are still out here saying it’s “just stress.”

It’s not.

It’s a full hormonal shift that impacts brain function, metabolism, muscle, bone, and mood.

When you understand what’s happening, you stop blaming yourself for feeling “off.”

And you start realizing your body isn’t broken—it’s transitioning.
