There's a junior running back in Western Pennsylvania who has 1,712 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns through SEVEN games.. and I want college football fans to start learning his name!
His name is Tevin Owen-Cratsenberg, and he's playing some ridiculous football at Highlands High School in Natrona Heights.
I know a lot of my audience isn't from Western PA, so you might not fully understand the aura of high school football around here. The WPIAL is SPECIAL. These towns live for Friday nights, and this part of the country has produced some unbelievable football talent over the years.
And Tevin is giving people another reason to pay attention. He rushed for 316 yards against Deer Lakes, then followed that up with 180 yards and three touchdowns against Southmoreland. Penn State, Wisconsin and Cincinnati have already offered him, and he's still got another year of high school football after this one!
There's just something about watching a kid from your own backyard start making a name for himself before the rest of the country catches on. Especially around here, where football means so damn much to these communities. You spend a couple years watching these kids play on Friday nights, and suddenly you're hearing their names during a college football broadcast on Saturday.
So for everybody outside Western PA who hasn't heard of him yet.. remember Tevin Owen-Cratsenberg. Because when you eventually hear his name on Saturdays, I want you to remember where you heard it first!
