Time to get to know another Arctic Fox!

KUPONO JEREMIAH #40

Four years of hockey. Defenseman. Penguins fan. Ready for the tournaments. And then we get to the pregame song…

🎶 “California Gurls.”

Intimidation level: questionable. Vibes: absolutely immaculate.

His snack choices are equally elite: Cotton Candy ice cream + freeze-dried Skittles — apparently #40 believes sugar is a food group.

And finally, we asked Kupono to tell us something interesting about himself. Something we might not know. Something that really lets us get to know the person behind the helmet.

His answer:

“I like hockey.” 😂

Four years in, voluntarily spending his weekends freezing in ice rinks, and playing defense for the Arctic Foxes… we had our suspicions, but thank you for finally confirming it, Kupono.

Watch out for #40 this season. Intimidation level may be questionable…but never underestimate a defenseman fueled by freeze-dried Skittles and California Gurls. Let’s go Foxes!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BLAKE! #67

Today we’re celebrating Blake DeFrancesco #67!

🏒 Favorite hockey memory: Getting to play on the Notre Dame ice

And honestly, Blake picked the perfect career path because spending a season with this team should give him plenty of hands-on experience working with wild animals.

POSTGAME RECAP: FOXES WIN 6–2!

The Foxes wrapped up placement games last night with a 6–2 win over the South Pittsburgh Rebellion!

The boys came ready to play, and apparently Chase thought sharing goals was optional 😂. But more importantly, they played together, worked hard, and finished placement season on a high note.

There were also reports of spacecraft taking up several parking spots at RMU following the game. At this point, we’ve stopped asking questions. Space Face has clearly attracted some attention.

And Coach Vince? He celebrated the end of placements the only logical way possible — by heading to Disney World the very next morning. Rumor has it he’s already standing in line at Magic Kingdom yelling “MOVE YOUR FEET!” at anyone leaving more than a two-foot gap in front of them.

And with that, placement season is officially in the books:

🥅 23 goals scored
✅ 2 wins
❌ 2 losses

There were big wins, a tough one, a 6–6 comeback that turned into a one-goal heartbreaker with seconds left, plenty of Space Face abductions, a few Belt celebrations, and more than enough chaos to keep things interesting.

But the biggest takeaway? This team is getting better. They’re learning how to battle back, trust each other, work for each other, and keep playing until the final buzzer.

If these four games were just the preview, this season is going to be a FUN one.

MAKE SOME SPACE FOR CHASE!

Alright, Chase… we get it. Maybe let some of the other kids have a turn next game?? 😂

Apparently a regular hat trick wasn’t quite enough. He just had to be extra… or should we say EXTRA-terrestrial? So naturally, he added goal #4 AND an assist. Because apparently three goals just felt a little too ordinary.

Then he walked away with The Belt … and Sebastian took one look at that performance and was like, “Heck yeah. Somebody get the mask — this kid’s leaving Earth tonight.”

So tonight’s Chase recap:

Chase, please don’t leave us for the Saturn Slapshots — rumor has it they’re openly recruiting after tonight’s performance. Between us, though, we hear their travel schedule is brutal.

All jokes aside, Chase was absolutely out of this world tonight. Four goals, an assist, nonstop hustle, and the kind of effort that makes everyone around him better. The Belt was well earned, Sebastian’s abduction was completely justified, and at this point we’re just hoping the Saturn Slapshots scouts weren’t actually watching. We’re pretty happy this extraterrestrial is an Arctic Fox.

Great game, Chase and Foxes! Now let’s get this season started

ARCTIC FOXES SATURDAY GAME
WEATHER ALERT

Tomorrow nights forecast for the game at RMU: falling temperatures, hazardous hockey-equipment air quality, and a 100% chance of parents yelling “SKATE!” beginning around 6:35 PM.

Around 5:00 PM, conditions become unstable as parents are forced to choose between caffeine and cocktails.

Expect heavy hockey activity throughout the evening with scattered pucks, gusty bench conditions, and rising parental stress levels.

Unfortunately, meteorologists are reporting no relief in sight until April.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: HENDRIX HEITGER #34 🥅

Next up- one of the brave souls who saw a hockey net and thought, ‘Yeah, I’ll stand in front of that’ Hendrix!

Hendrix has been playing hockey for 6 years and has spent 4 of them as a goalie… because apparently getting pucks launched directly at you sounded like a really good time.

What’s he most excited about this season? Tournaments and traveling — AKA spending Mom and Dad’s money. At least the kid understands how travel hockey works.

His pregame song is Master of Puppets, his favorite goalie is Fleury, and he’s a mint chocolate chip guy. Solid choices… although the Hershey’s DARK chocolate at 12 years old feels suspiciously mature.

Most 12-year-olds want a new video game controller for their birthday, Hendrix apparently decided he was ready for the real thing and took the controls of a PLANE. Goalies are just built differently.

We’re just glad he decided to come back down to earth to guard the Foxes’ net!

🏒 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: GEORGE NAUMAN #43

Time to get to know George! He’s heading into his 4th year of hockey and is most excited for all the tournaments this season. He’s a Penguins fan, Mario Lemieux is his favorite player, and Birthday Cake is the ice cream flavor of choice.

But can we talk about that fun fact?! George was named after his mom’s childhood cat named George, and I’m low-key obsessed. I now have several questions, starting with… how great of a cat was George that you named your CHILD after him?

Also, George should probably be thankful that cat wasn’t named pickles.

Have an awesome season, Pickles….I mean George!

We can’t wait to see you put those inherited cat-like reflexes to work on the ice this season!

Due to the overwhelming number of inquiries regarding the origin of the Space Face alien mask, we feel it’s time to address the situation.

Unfortunately, this is not something you can simply order on Amazon.

The Space Alien Face is an extremely rare, authentic piece obtained through highly classified intergalactic channels. It can only be acquired during a very specific planetary alignment, from a small vendor located somewhere just past Saturn.

There is currently a 47- light year waiting list, and shipping to Earth is… unreliable.

We apologize to everyone hoping to get their hands on one.

For now, there is only ONE Space Face… and it belongs to the Arctic Foxes 12U4.
