Meet Nik, a U14 from our Harmar site. Nik is an exceptional trumpet player.

He plays in senior high level symphony orchestras with Pittsburgh Youth Orchestra outside of school. Three hours on Sundays, in addition to lessons, school band and school jazz band. He played in Heinz Hall last spring and will be performing in South America next summer.

This weekend, Niklas will participate in a music “gig” in Miami, playing in an adult jazz band with his mother for a black tie event. He will be the only young person to perform (possibly ever — in the last 50+ years it’s been around) with this ensemble. For a musician, this is a big deal!

There's much more to our players than just what we see on the pitch, and we love celebrating all their talents and achievements.

Good luck this weekend, Nik!

It can also look like a U11 girl being challenged and playing with and against the U12 boys.

If You’re Good Enough, You’re Old Enough Lionel Messi. Marta. Lamine Yamal. Vicky Lopez. Cavan Sullivan. All elite players who made their debuts in their teenage years. In each case, they showed they were ready for a new challenge, and their clubs found them the right level. At Steel City FC, we...

Come for the goal, stay for the front-flip!

There’s no party like a Nicholas Graeca party. A swift break down the left wing sees three players combine for a fine goal to seal the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup victory!
